Gaza militants enter Israel after rocket barrage

Dozens of militants from the Islamist militant group Hamas appear to have entered southern Israel in a surprise attack and are currently at large.

Israel's military says it is striking targets in the Gaza Strip amid a "situational assessment".

Earlier, dozens of rockets were launched toward Israel, setting off air raid sirens across the country.

One person has been killed and there have been reports of explosions near Tel Aviv and areas surrounding Gaza.

Palestinian militant group Hamas has claimed responsibility for the attack, with its armed wing saying it launched 5,000 rockets in 20 minutes.

Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) said the group "had begun a massive shooting of rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory" and that militants had entered Israeli territory in "different locations".

The statement said the chief of the general staff was conducting a "situational assessment" and that Hamas would "face the consequences and responsibility for these events".

It added that residents in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip have been asked to stay inside, while civilians in southern and central areas are "required to stay next to shelters".

Israel's Magen David Adom rescue agency said one person had died with 15 others injured.

Footage from Reuters news agency shows Israeli firefighters tackling flames in the city of Ashkelon, as thick plumes of smoke rose from charred out vehicles.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said security chiefs are due to meet as a result of the rocket strikes.

An initial report from the IDF said that a "number of terrorists" had infiltrated into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip and that residents in surrounding areas have been asked to stay in their homes.

lets hope the blue suede shoes can at last put the final nail in the coffin of these self pitying iranian backed loser thugs.

hamas started this and that gives the israelis every excuse they need to to obliterate these terrorists and grind them back into the stone age swamp from which they originated

IDF calls up reserves, declares Israel on war alert

Terrorists breach Gaza border and infiltrate into communities in the south exchanging fire with security forces; residents call for help as troops fail to reach residents under attack; security cabinet to meet

IDF calls up reserves, declares Israel on war alert

The IDF began calling up reserve troops after Israel came under a coordinated attack from Hamas in Gaza including infiltrations into communities in the South where terrorists roamed freely shooting in all directions, setting homes on fire and reportedly holding residents hostage. According to unsubstantiated reports, some may have been taken back to the strip

I think we all know this cannot end well.

Palestinian Fighters are continuing to roam the Streets in Southern Israel where they are continuing to Massacring any Men, Women, and Children that they see.

Jewish people are being gunned down simply for driving home in Israel. A Palestinian Arab terrorist opened fire on a Jewish family including an infant and a pregnant woman in Huwarra. The disregard for human life should be appalling to anyone. There is no justification for this barbarism.
    Graphic warning.

This is flaring into a major conflict very quickly. The terrorists are live-streaming their crimes online. Truly disgusting.

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu will reportedly order an Official Declaration of War against Hamas and the other Palestinian Groups who are assisting in todays Attack during the Cabinet Meeting today at 13:00.

Reports are also that a prison has been overrun, as well as A IDF base. Civilians are fleeing the border areas, en masse. This is terrible, and the scale of it just keeps getting bigger.

Not much common ground, One side home made rockets the other inimited financial and military support of USA and most of the European regimes who killed their own jews .PA: Israel is a “bastard state” established to “realize the will and strategy of its lords from the colonialist capitalist Western states”

    Nan Jacques Zilberdik | Oct 5, 2023

One of the repeating PA conspiracy theories is that the “colonialist capitalist Western states” established Israel so it could serve as their pawn in the Middle East.
One of the official PA daily’s regular columnists stressed this libel, calling Israel the “bastard state” that is still being “funded and armed” by the West. Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul claimed that the goal with the creation of Israel was that it should “realize the will and strategy of its lords from the colonialist capitalist Western states.” He further argued that the plan of the Western states still is to prevent “the Arab homeland” from developing and instead “turn them into hired slaves”:
“The Western circles funded and armed and are still funding and arming this bastard state to achieve the aforementioned goal – in order to leave the Arab homeland, its peoples, and its national liberation movement devoid of any power and on the margins of the movement of history, and to turn them into hired slaves in service of their goals, by imposing rulers who have sold their conscience and history on the slave market of the West and made it easy for it to steal their peoples’ resources.”
    [Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 16, 2023]
The official PA daily printed a similarly hateful statement by Al-Ghoul earlier this year when he labeled the Jews “a Satanic pawn” of the West. He also repeated another PA libel that Israel was created because Europe wanted to “get rid of the Jewish problem”:
“All the western and eastern European states led by Washington wanted first of all to get rid of the Jewish problem, and to exploit the Jews wandering in their countries so that they would fulfill the role of a satanic pawn. This was to realize the goals of the global tycoons in general, and of the Zionist Jewish families in particular: Ripping apart the great Arab world and dividing it, dismantling the Arabs’ unity, and settling accounts from ancient history with the Arabs and Muslims in general, in other words, [revenge for losses during] the Crusades.”

    The Associated Press

JERUSALEM -- Israel's defense minister announced that the Hamas militant group has started a war against Israel and pledged that "Israel will win.”
Following a security cabinet meeting at the Israeli military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned that Hamas “made a grave mistake” in launching barrages of rockets into southern and central Israel in its surprise morning attack.
In one of the most serious escalations in years between Israel and the militant group that rules Gaza, Hamas gunmen crossed the border fence at several places and infiltrated Israeli communities.
“The state of Israel will win this war,” Gallant said.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.

    ___
Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip carried out an unprecedented infiltration Saturday into southern Israel, sending fighters across the border and firing thousands of rockets into the country as the ruling Hamas militant group announced the beginning of a new operation.
The Israeli military put the country on war alert and began striking targets in Gaza in response, setting the stage for what was likely to be a new heavy round of fighting between the bitter enemies. In a serious escalation, salvos of rockets fired from Gaza set off constant air raid sirens as far north as Jerusalem.
Videos posted on social media showed what appeared to be uniformed Palestinian gunmen inside the Israeli border town of Sderot.
A video from Gaza showed what looked like the lifeless body of an Israeli soldier being trampled by an angry crowd of Palestinians shouting “God is Great.” Other footage appeared to show Palestinian militants dragging away an Israeli soldier, still alive, on a motorcycle and Palestinian men dancing atop an Israeli tank that had been set ablaze. The authenticity of the videos could not immediately be verified.

The elusive leader of Hamas' military wing, Mohammed Deif, announced the beginning of what he called “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.”
“Today the people are regaining their revolution,” he said in the recorded message, as he called on Palestinians from east Jerusalem to northern Israel to join the fight and “expel the occupiers and demolish the walls."
“We must set the earth on fire under the feet of the occupiers,” he said, claiming that Hamas had fired over 5,000 rockets into Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 's office said he'd convene his security cabinet for urgent discussions.
The escalation comes at a delicate time for his far-right government, as protests against the government's deeply divisive plan to overhaul the judiciary have spread even within the ranks of the military.

Hundreds of soldiers in the military reserves have either pulled out of training sessions or said they won't report for duty over the judicial changes, threatening to undermine Netanyahu's reputation as a security expert and raising fears about the effects on the operational readiness of Israel’s armed forces.
Salah Arouri, an exiled Hamas leader, said the operation was a response “to the crimes of the occupation.” He said fighters were defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
The operation, coming on the major Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, caught Israel off-guard, raising memories of the 1973 war in which Israel’s enemies launched a surprise attack on Yom Kippur.
The Israeli military confirmed Saturday that an infiltration had occurred in several locations near the Gaza border in southern Israel. It ordered residents to remain indoors.
“In the last hour, the Hamas terrorist organization had begun a massive shooting of rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, and terrorists infiltrated into Israeli territory in a number of different locations," it said.

Cities and towns in southern Israel emptied as the military closed roads near Gaza and millions of Israelis scrambled to bombs shelters while air raid sirens wailed overhead. In the kibbutz of Nahal Oz, just 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the Gaza Strip, terrified residents who were huddled indoors said they could hear constant gunfire echoing off the buildings.
“We are in a state of war,” said Kobi Shabtai, the Israeli police chief. “There is no other explanation.”
The army said residents next to Gaza should stay in their homes due to the infiltration.
“With rockets we somehow feel safer, knowing that we have the Iron Dome (missile defense system) and our safe rooms. But knowing that terrorists are walking around communities is a different kind of fear," said Mirjam Reijnen, a 42-year-old volunteer firefighter in Nahal Oz, adding that she and her three kids have been too scared to leave the shelter even for a moment to use the bathroom.
Israel has built a massive fence along the Gaza border meant to prevent infiltrations. It goes deep underground and is equipped with cameras, high-tech sensors and sensitive listening technology. The infiltration marked a major accomplishment — and escalation — by Hamas.
The sound of outgoing rockets whooshing through the air could be heard in Gaza and sirens wailed in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during an early morning barrage that lasted for over two hours. Israel's Magen David Adom rescue agency said a 70-year-old woman was critically injured when a rocket hit a building in southern Israel. Elsewhere, a 20-year-old man was moderately injured by rocket shrapnel, it said.
The launches came after weeks of heightened tensions along Israel's volatile border with Gaza, and heavy fighting in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Israel has maintained a blockade over Gaza since Hamas, an Islamic militant group that opposes Israel, seized control of the territory in 2007. The bitter enemies have fought four wars since then. There have also been numerous rounds of smaller fighting between Israel and Hamas and other smaller militant groups based in Gaza.
The blockade, which restricts the movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza, has devastated the territory's economy. Israel says the blockade is needed to keep militant groups from building up their arsenals. The Palestinians say the closure amounts to collective punishment.
The rocket fire comes during a period of heavy fighting in the West Bank, where nearly 200 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military raids this year. In the volatile northern West Bank, scores of militants and residents poured into the streets in celebration at the news of the rocket barrages.
Israel says the raids are aimed at militants, but stone-throwing protesters and people uninvolved in the violence have also been killed. Palestinian attacks on Israeli targets have killed over 30 people.
The tensions have also spread to Gaza, where Hamas-linked activists held violent demonstrations along the Israeli border in recent weeks. Those demonstrations were halted in late September after international mediation.

The usual overkill retalliation from Israel is to be expected. It doesn't help, just makes things worse and so the cycle continues.

Now don't go calling for sanctions against Israel:

In March 2017, Menendez co-sponsored the Israel Anti-Boycott Act (S.270), which made it a federal crime, punishable by a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment,[109] for Americans to encourage or participate in boycotts against Israel and Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories if protesting actions by the Israeli government

This has been happening my entire lifetime. An endless amount of peace negotiations/envoys/treaties/delegations have come to nothing. Just another conflict in the Holy Land, yawn.

Can we just nuke both sides? Whoever first reclaims the radiated wasteland gets to keep it.

'Proud operation': Iranian officials show support for deadly attack by Hamas on Israel

Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's senior adviser, on Saturday (Oct 7), extended support for the attack launched by Hamas on Israel and termed it a "proud operation".

"We support the proud Operation Al-Aqsa Flood," Yahya Rahim Safavi said using the codename for the operation announced by Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.

"We support this operation, and we are sure that the resistance front also supports this issue," added Safavi, a Revolutionary Guards general, in comments reported by the ISNA news agency.

He then vowed support for the Palestinian militants "until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem".

    Iran's foreign ministry hails assault
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani also congratulated Palestinian extremists and hailed the attack.

"Today's operation marked a new page in the field of resistance and armed operations against the occupiers," he said.

Also read: Western countries condemn Hamas' attack, express solidarity with Israel

"The resistance has so far achieved brilliant victories during this operation, and this is a bright spot in the history of the Palestinian people's struggle against the Zionists."

Pakistan, Afghanistan voice support for Palestine
Pakistan and Afghanistan also voiced support for Palestine and called for the "cessation of hostilities".

Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement saying, "We call on the international community to come together for cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians and for a lasting peace in the Middle East."

"Pakistan has consistently advocated for a two-state solution as the key to enduring peace in the Middle East, with a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian question anchored in international law and in line with relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions. A viable, sovereign and contiguous State of Palestine should be established on the basis of pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital," the statement added.

On the other hand, the Taliban government also hailed the attack by Hamas calling it an "Israeli trampling" on the rights of Palestinians.

The statement from Afghanistan's MFA read, "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has carefully monitored the recent events in the Gaza Strip and considers the occurrence of such events to be the result of Israeli Zionists trampling on the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people and repeated insults and disrespect to Muslim holy places, and any type of defence and The resistance of the Palestinian people for freedom."

Qatar holds Israel responsible for the attack
Qatar held Israel responsible for the violence and called for the international community to take action against Tel Aviv.

The statement read, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds Israel solely responsible for the ongoing escalation due to its ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, the latest of which was the repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli police."

"The Ministry stresses the need for the international community to act urgently to compel Israel to stop its flagrant violations of international law, respect the resolutions of international legitimacy and the historical rights of the Palestinian people, and prevent these events from being used as a pretext to ignite a new asymmetric war against Palestinian civilians in Gaza," the statement further read.

spot on. and the world will be a better place for it. and when gaza has been dealt with, the women hating iranians will be next.

media has videos of dead israeli women paraded naked in gaza and being spat on by palestinian men, and
videos of tied and bound bloodstained israeli women being pulled by her hair and bundled into a jeep.

those brave hamas ragheads love to abuse women, that is when they are not sucking each others cocks.
