    extracts ftom hamas' charter.

    Article 7

describes Hamas as "one of the links in the chain of the struggle against the Zionist invaders" and claims continuity with the followers of the religious and nationalist hero Izz ad-Din al-Qassam from the Great Arab Revolt as well as the Palestinian combatants of the First Arab-Israeli War. It adds a hadith claiming that at the Day of Judgment all Jews will be killed.[1][28]

    Article 22

Makes sweeping claims about Jewish influence and power. It specifically claims that the Jews were responsible for instigating multiple revolutions and wars, including the French Revolution, World War I, and the Russian Revolution. It also claims that Jews control the United Nations, and that they are supported by "the imperialistic forces in the Capitalist West and Communist East

    Article 28

Conspiracy charges against Israel and the whole of the Jewish people: "Israel, Judaism and Jews". It claims that "Zionist organizations" aim to destroy society through moral corruption and eliminating Islam, and are responsible for drug trafficking and alcoholism.

    Article 15

"The day that enemies usurp part of Muslim land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Muslim". It states the history of the Crusades into Muslim lands and says the "Palestinian problem is a religious problem."

ultimately, this is a jihad against judaism and nothing else. it is a religious war. they still live in the stone age and if they had their way, they would have us live in the stone age too.

israel will do the world a big favour by obliterating these fucking cockroaches.

The US will send a carrier strike group to the Eastern Mediterranean in support of Israel

    BY TARA COPP

    Updated 12:13 PM GMT+7, October 9, 2023

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Sunday he has ordered the Ford carrier strike group to sail to the Eastern Mediterranean to be ready to assist Israel after the attack by Hamas that has left more than 1,000 dead on both sides. Americans were reported to be among those killed and missing.

The USS Gerald R. Ford, the Navy’s newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, and its approximately 5,000 sailors and deck of warplanes will be accompanied by cruisers and destroyers in a show of force that is meant to be ready to respond to anything, from possibly interdicting additional weapons from reaching Hamas and conducting surveillance.

The large deployment reflects a U.S. desire to deter any regional expansion of the conflict. But the Israeli government formally declared war Sunday and gave the green light for “significant military steps” to retaliate against Hamas."

Moscow blasts US approach to Israel-Palestine violence.

Washington’s ‘monopolization’ of peace process undermines lasting resolution, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"Moscow is deeply concerned at last weekend’s surge in violence between Israel and the Palestinian militant movement Hamas, but finds the US approach to the crisis problematic, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Washington’s position is questionable “because they say: stop it all immediately, Israel must win, destroy the terrorists, and that’s it,” the top diplomat said on Monday.

There were many escalations in this long-running conflict, “and never after the situation calmed down were the necessary efforts to remove the main cause undermining stability in the Middle East undertaken,” he added, referring to the fact that Palestinians don’t have a nation state.

Russia considers a two-state solution, as outlined in resolutions by the UN Security Council, to be the only viable way towards stability, but neither Israel nor Washington appear committed to it, Lavrov noted. Quashing extremism without creating a viable Palestinian state cannot bring peace, he said.

Instead “the Americans are trying to monopolize mediation efforts” and focus attention on security problems, which are genuine, and discussions of how daily conditions may be improved for Palestinians, according to the Russian minister.

Lavrov reiterated that Russia considered violence directed at civilians unacceptable, regardless of which side perpetrated it. He condemned the practice of taking hostages, as Hamas fighters had during their incursion from Gaza into southern Israel on Saturday.

Of particular concern for Moscow is the threat that Russian citizens living in Israel face amid the escalation, the diplomat added, offering assistance to those who may seek evacuation from the country.

The minister made the remarks during a joint press conference in Moscow with Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit. He said the organization has recently achieved progress in reducing tensions between various players in the Middle East and was in a position to play a “definitive role in the complex improvement of the regional situation,” including in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Moscow will back the League’s effort, Lavrov pledged.

Washington has declared its full support for Israel in the hostilities with Hamas and sought to make members of the UN Security Council condemn the group during an emergency session on Sunday. Many Arab nations stated that Israel was at least partially responsible for the violence, due to its treatment of Palestinians.

US sending weapons and warships to Israel further fuels tension; wrong-footed response mirrors US failed Middle East policy.

    By GT staff reporters

    Published: Oct 09, 2023 08:57 PM

"US' one-sided decision to send weapons and warships to Israel after Hamas attack will "further fuel the tension, cause more humanitarian crisis," said Chinese observers, moreover, Washington's wrong-footed response to the surprise attack also mirrored its failed Middle East policies, a result of flip-flopping and indecisiveness, commented the observers.

Repeating its tactic of fanning up the flames as it's doing in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the US is also pressuring other countries, China included, to condemn Hamas. The US wants to morally abduct China, Observers said, adding that the visit of US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer can serve as a window for Washington to learn and understand China's stance on conflicts of the Middle East region.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III said on Sunday he had ordered the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford and five guided-missile cruisers and destroyers, which are already in the Mediterranean Sea, to the eastern part of the sea, near Israel, as fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas militants raged into a third day after Hamas' surprise attack on Israel.

Hamas on Sunday said by sending a Navy carrier, the US is taking part in "aggression against Palestinian people"

When asked to comment on US sending military equipment to Israel, Mao Ning, spokesperson of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a briefing on Monday that China believes that dialogue and negotiation are the fundamental ways to resolve the issue. "We call on all parties to cease fire and stop the war as soon as possible to avoid further escalation and deterioration of the situation," she said.

Chinese observers said partiality is the US' usual practice in dealing with international conflicts, which in the end only fuels tension. "Israel already outweighs Palestine in terms of military might; if the US wants peace, it should take actions to calm down the situation, instead of giving one-sided support to Israel," Tian Wenlin, a research fellow at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, told the Global Times.

The situation surrounding the Gaza Strip has kept on escalating as Israel's military relentlessly pounded the Gaza Strip early on Monday morning and the number of deaths from the war against the Palestinian militants surged above 1,100, CBS news reported. Israel announced a siege on the Gaza Strip, with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant saying: "We are fighting savages, and we will act accordingly."

Observers of the Middle East said the tension will keep simmering for the following weeks, as the administration of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who leads a right-wing government, will be jeopardized if he does not respond harshly to the most serious attack against Israel in a generation; also, Hamas is unlikely to back down, because the attack is seen as its "last-ditch effort" to disrupt the reconciliation of US-backed Saudi Arabia-Israel normalization. "At this juncture, mediation is needed more than ever, and US' fueling of the conflict will result in more humanitarian crisis. It may also result in a spillover of the conflict to a wider range," said Tian.

Liu Zhongmin, a professor at the Middle East Studies Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, believes US' sending warships is a "symbolic showing of support to Israel" and also aims at deterring Iran, as ground offensive is the usual practice targeting Hamas, who can easily mix with civilians.

"I am afraid sending warships is the only way Washington can come up with at current stage, because it is now flat-footed about how to respond to Hamas' surprise attack and reassert its role in the Middle East," said Liu. The expert said the current US' quandary also mirrored its failed Middle East policies.

The Hamas attack was widely recognized by Chinese observers as a protest to the US' selfish agenda of pushing for normalization between Israel and Arab nations, whilst ignoring Palestinian people's needs. "Washington lacks systematic policies in the Middle East. it intends to cut engagement in the region, but also feared China and Russia will fill up its vacuum; it also wants to assert influence in the Middle East to maintain its hegemony," said Liu, opining that US' current wrong-footed status in the Middle East is a result of such flip-flopping and indecisiveness.

US pothole in the Middle East is backfiring on its domestic politics. The Hamas attack has also thrust US President Joe Biden into crisis as Republican candidates said the incident is evidence of US' weakness on the world stage; and they have claimed that the administration is partly responsible, NBC news reported.

Biden is counting on successfully brokering Saudi Arabia-Israel normalization to boost his performance on Middle East before the presidential election next year, yet the Hamas attack may not only sink the deal, but also likely exert a heavy blow on Biden's performance in the election, Niu Xinchun, a research fellow at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations in Beijing, told the Global Times.

    US' hijack failed

As the conflicts evolve, the US is seeking to hijack China to take a tougher stance on Hamas. US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday called on China to support Israel after deadly attacks by Hamas, adding he was "disappointed" that Beijing showed "no sympathy" for the country over the weekend, Reuters reported.

China is deeply saddened by the civilian casualties caused by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We also oppose and condemn the violence and attacks against civilians, Mao said, noting that China's position is consistent.

"We believe that the top priority is to realize a ceasefire, stop the war and restore peace as soon as possible. We also expect the relevant parties in the international community to play a role and work together to cool down the situation," she said.

Not only the US tends to take sides in all conflicts, it forces other countries to side with it. It is doing that with the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, and it is doing the same with the current Palestine-Israel conflict, said Sun Degang, director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Fudan University. "It should already learn from the Russia-Ukraine crisis that taking sides is never the way out of a conflict."

Over the past year, China has actively supported the possible resumption of peace talks in the Middle East. On whether such efforts would be affected by the escalation of violence amid the Israel-Palestine conflict, the Chinese spokesperson said the most important lesson of reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran is that no matter how complex the issues and how sharp the challenges are, as long as we have equal dialogue in the spirit of mutual respect, we will surely find a solution acceptable to each other.

The expert said Schumer's remarks have highlighted the urgency for China and the US to discuss Middle East issues, and his visit can serve as golden opportunity for Washington to learn and understand China's stance on conflicts of the Middle East region.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting behind closed doors Sunday, with the US demanding all 15 members to strongly condemn "these heinous terrorist attacks committed by Hamas," but they took no immediate action."

    Sounds about right.

Too much of a pussy to do anything against Russia or China, so will go to backup their mate against a few sandheads on a strip of land roughly the same size as their ship.

Maybe get some Vietnamese pensioners over to teach them about tunnels?

Tax has forgotten to mention that it is the Israeli apartheid and land grab that has created Hezbollah and Hamas.

And of course the retribution comes. The IDF are targeting Hamas in all their defensive redoubts, their armoured citadels, their extensive camps and training grounds, their naval centres, airfields, missile silos and artillery emplacements that litter the Gaza strip ……………
Err, sorry, got that wrong. The massed ground attack aircraft and artillery systems backed by armoured units of the IDF are bombarding blocks of flats, community centres, schools and hospitals where the Hamas army are billeted and where of course no civilians are located. Oops, sorry again, there are no civilians in Gaza, they are all verminous, arab muslim trash who should be exterminated lest they rise up again and threaten their Israeli masters led by the unimpeachable, the wise and glorious great magisterial Benny “ I never embezzled no one” Nettyahoo.
I wonder how many children the Israelis will kill this time.

The word Hamas is an acronym of: Ḥarakah al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyah = Islamic Resistance Movement.

Resistance to what? Resistance to end the occupation.

Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian legislative election and holds a majority in the parliament of the Palestinian National Authority.

Its efficiency in governance, and perceived lack of corruption has led the organization to receive widespread popularity and support among the Palestinian people.

It has a social service wing, Dawah, and a military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

Canada, the European Union, Israel, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States have designated Hamas as a terrorist organization.

New Zealand and Paraguay have designated only its military wing as a terrorist organization.

It is not considered a terrorist organization by Brazil, China, Egypt, Iran, Norway, Qatar, Russia, Syria and Turkey.

In December 2018, a resolution to condemn Hamas as a terrorist organisation failed to pass the United Nations General Assembly.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh is based in Qatar.

Israel announces ‘total’ blockade on Gaza

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant says blockade will include ban on admission of food, electricity and fuel.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday authorities would cut electricity and block the entry of food and fuel as part of “a complete siege” on Hamas-run Gaza, where about 2.3 million people live in one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

“We are putting a complete siege on Gaza … No electricity, no food, no water, no gas – it’s all closed,” Gallant said in a video statement.

^ Yet more war crimes inflicted by Israel, as announced by Amnesty International and UNHR.

It's about time the UN sanctions on Israel were put into action. Everyone moans about the Russia veto, about time the US one was removed as well.

Humza Yousaf: My in-laws are trapped in Gaza

    • Published

    Share

Image caption,Mr Yousaf said he did not know if his in-laws would make it through the night

Scotland's first minister says his parents-in-law are "trapped" in Gaza, as he unequivocally condemned the attacks by Hamas in Israel.

Humza Yousaf said his wife's parents, who live in Dundee, travelled to Gaza to see her sick grandmother.

The Israelis have told them to leave but Mr Yousaf said they have no way to get out and the UK Foreign Office cannot guarantee safe passage.

He said he and his wife were "sick with worry" that they would not survive.

Nadia El-Nakla's parent's travelled to Gaza about a week ago and were there when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel this weekend, killing hundreds.

Mr Yousaf told the BBC he strongly condemned the "unjustifiable" the actions of Hamas.

"There can be no equivocation about that condemnation, and the Scottish government is strong in its condemnation, " he said.

"What we have unfortunately seen is many innocent people lose their lives in the course of the last 48 and 72 hours and the lives of an innocent Israeli are to me equal to the lives of an innocent Palestinian.

"And many innocent people on both sides I'm afraid we are seeing are losing their lives and that cannot be justified in any way, shape or form."

Mr Yousaf said many Jewish families in Scotland would also be worried about family members they have not heard from or who have come to harm.

"We cannot ever justify the killing of innocent civilians," he said.

Speaking to the BBC on Monday, Mr Yousaf said: "As many will know, my wife is Palestinian, her mum and dad, my in-laws, who live in Dundee, live in Scotland, they've been in Gaza and are currently trapped in Gaza, I'm afraid."

They were visiting the 92-year-old "elderly and frail" mother of Mr Yousaf's father-in-law when the Hamas attack took place.

He said they had now been told by Israeli authorities to leave because "Gaza will effectively be obliterated".

Gaza is home to about 2.3 million people, 80% of whom rely on aid.

More than 500 people have died there in Israel's retaliatory strikes and the region could now be on the brink of a new humanitarian crisis.

"Despite the best efforts of the British Foreign Office, nobody, nobody can guarantee them safe passage anywhere," he said.

"So I'm in a situation where, frankly, night by night, day by day, we don't know whether or not my mother-in-law and father-in-law - who have nothing to do, as most Gazans don't, with Hamas or with any terror attack - whether they will make it through the night or not."

'My family have nothing to do with Hamas'

Since the attacks began on Saturday morning, Israel has stopped all supplies entering Gaza, including food and medicine.

"This war will last longer than two days, I suspect," Mr Yousaf added.

Mr Yousaf's brother-in-law also lives in Gaza with his four children including a two-month-old baby. The family are running out of baby milk, and only have about two-days of supplies for the rest of the family, he said.

Many are currently without electricity and internet, and could soon be out of essential food and water supplies.

Even before the latest restrictions, residents of Gaza faced widespread food insecurity, restrictions on movement and water shortages.

"My family have nothing to do with Hamas," he said.

"My mother-in-law is a retired nurse from Ninewells [Hospital]; my brother-in-law who lives in Gaza is a doctor, nothing to do with Hamas, but they are along with a lot of other Gazans potentially going collective punishment, and that cannot be justified."
