Damn more better afterlife than sitting on a cloud and playing the harp. The sailors onboard the warships will be clutching their beads and saying hail Mary, poor buggers only signed up to get more economic security, & now they are looking at suffocation via a watery grave courtesy of a US 'elite' who don't give a f*ck.

I don't hate the US and Euro people. It's their politicians who are the dickheads.

Sorry, only think I can think of is holding a humongous Koran, Torah and Bible burning bonfire and then maybe in a 1,000 years the centuries of religious propaganda might be wiped from memory.

Actually the scum that run the operation have been camped in Qatar for years sharing the pain of their people over 5 star meals.

Are Israel and Hamas guilty of war crimes?

Marc Lamont Hill challenges a senior spokesperson for Hamas and a former Israeli deputy foreign minister on war crimes.

"The Israel-Gaza war has been raging for a week, resulting in thousands of casualties in Gaza and Israel.

Israel announced a “total blockade” of Gaza, blocking access to food, electricity, water and fuel. This decision comes after Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel, killing at least a thousand Israelis.

Many have raised concerns about continuing war crimes, such as the targeting of civilians, taking of hostages and collective punishment.

On UpFront this week, Marc Lamont Hill challenges Hamas senior spokesperson Osama Hamdan and Former Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon.

Obviously, the Hamas killing of Israelis last week cannot be condoned and I don't think anyone is actually supporting their actions. However, many do feel that the situation within Gaza is far from ideal and will always lead to tensions that will boil over at some point.

Gaza consists of around 2.1 million people of which 1.6million (~80%) are considered refugees. UNRWA site lists 8 refugee camps Attention Required! | Cloudflare
and these are funded by US, EU, UK, and others, via the UN, to the tune of up to $1bn yearly. This is because Israel has effectively sealed off the area refusing to allow these people in or out of the strip.

So, we have lots of people living a life of destitution with little hope of improvement and their fate is sealed by the Israelis, across the border, who have effectively taken their land. Even ignoring religious backgrounds one can understand that this can never be a permanent solution and something has to be done to allow these people to live together peacefully. It simply can't go on with one set of people having everything while forcing others to have nothing.

Tensions will rise and eventually boil over. The result was the attacks that were seen last week.

The solution is not to kill more innocent people in the Gaza strip. The answer is to understand the tension that led to the attacks and to find a better solution than sealing a population, effectively imprisoning them, for a life of poverty.

Definitely felt it was worth my time to watch him interview those two. He definitely pinned Ayalon’s ears back and had him at the brink of being totally enraged at the end. Hamdan basically just wanted to regurgitate left wing progressive talking points blaming the Israelis for all the problems of the past 75 years. I get my fill of that here on TD.

I watched that on you tube yesterday. It wasn't the first time that Marc had interviewed hamdan and he pointed it out and called him out on the regurgitating . Nice to see a REAL journalist in action instead of all this spoon fed Murdoch bullshit that people seem.to swallow. I'm.probably old school. But I seem to recall in the states they had Walter cronkite. Who just read out the news as it occurred. Nothing else. He didn't offer an opinion he simply read the news . We had a similar thing in Oz. We just got the news minus the news readers thoughts on it. Perfect. Sadly all these kunts claiming to be journalists aren't. But that's how it is and I can't see it changing but sadly a lot of folk swallow this shit and don't see there being manipulatrd

Christ, when will folk learn that history is all about truth. Choosing to ignore it, or to distort it, is usually a doctrinal delusion reconstructing a narrative that simply serves some political agenda or other.

Israel is a historical fantasy that was imposed on the world by a tragically stupid British government manipulated by Zionists within the Establishment leading to the Balfour Declaration in 1917 which laid out in principle the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine that was finally established through terror and uncontrolled migration in 1948. A birth that was christened in the blood of British servicemen and Palestinian civilians slaughtered by Jewish terrorist gangs, the Irgun and Stern groups, the former’s leader, Menachem Begin, became Prime Minister in 1977. It has no legitimacy other than as a bastard state born out of coercion, terrorism and guilt for the Holocaust and the Palestinian people have been paying the price for the past 80 odd years.

The conflict will never end as long as Palestinians draw breath in the fight to reclaim their homeland stolen from them. But as we are seeing the Jews have learned a lesson or two from the Nazis and are looking to exterminate their nemesis by eradicating Gaza from the map and absorbing the West Bank in perpetuity.

Frankly, it really is quite extraordinary how anyone seized of one scintilla of decency could possibly support the Israeli Jews who comprise nearly a million Russians which probably explains their predilection for uncompromising savagery and cruelty.

^^ I must have missed your sympathy for the Armenians and all the casualties inflicted in nagorno karabakh or is it OK because that is yet another example of mussie atrocities or is it because there is no British link to it.

Interestingly, the WSJ has it that Benny has fallen out with the high-heeled war criminal over his failure to support Israel in this crisis.

I suppose given that said high-heeled war criminal is in an incestuous relationship with fellow sanction-busters Iran, he has to keep his fat gob shut to avoid alienating the mad mullahs.

You just gotta ignore most of these folks bruh. They want to start the clock on who owns the land to suit their beliefs and simply try to ignore or cover up the long and rich Jewish history of the region. All you’ll get is narrow minded and condescending lectures on the “context” and “culture” of the evil Israelis as defined by modern day progressives because they truly believe the rest of us are too ignorant and unenlightened to understand. They wanna talk about the angry Hamas terrorist who’s fed up with the treatment of the last 75 years and totally ignore the acts of barbarism of the Muslims century after century to attack or wipe out the Jews. Of course the same people won’t miss an opportunity to remind you of Christian atrocities over the millennia but for some reason the Muslim bubbas always get a pass … all the while telling Christians and Jews they want to wipe them from the earth.

I have to say, Storekeeper, and you are a poster who I respect, that it is very interesting to see almost all ex-military (yourself, nammers, snubby etc) come down firmly on the side of Israel while dismissing the rest of us who are pointing out that it's a shitshow with the Palestinians reduced to a life of misery because of Israeli policies. None of us, btw, are approving of what Hamas did last weekend but can understand why it happened when we look at the situation over the years and try to imagine what it is like from both sides.

    ...but you say this:

I don't think there has been one post of yours on this thread where you haven't looked at the situation from an ultra aggressive pro-Israel point of view while outright refusing to see the bigger picture. A man seemingly very supportive of the absolute destruction of Gaza with no questions asked.

Yet we are the narrow minded ones?

^ … and there you have it. Resistance is futile. Accept the progressive point of view or be marginalized for not seeing the “bigger picture” as defined by the progressives.

But, yeah, in all seriousness, I'm fucking baffled by anyone who can give unconditional support to Israel.

Well, not really when we think about it, because we all know exactly why they are so vehement.

    That too

But the "bomb cats, dogs, kids and the rest until they fuck off" approach, is what tells me, that we have nothing whatsoever in common and I wouldn't trust them for a second.

Lack of the most simple morals imo

    Too bad
