Or:
Socialism is when your neighbor get sick and can go to a hospital, not run for profits, but because everybody deserves it.
Socialism is just, imo, a fair way of sharing the cake.
If you prefer Indonesia ?
Good for you
Or the US, for that matter. No thanks. Do you know the average life expectancy in commie, 'third world' China has recently surpassed that of the USA?
I think calling someplace Socialist these days is the ultimate backhanded compliment.

Den største nedgang i forventet levealder var blandt mænd i USA, som havde en nedgang på 2,2 år i forhold til niveauet i 2019, efterfulgt af litauiske mænd (1,7 år).
As you can see from this research, life expectancy has dropped 2,2 years for US males
compared to 2019

That's what I went off. Dreaded GT. But the nations we often derogatively sneer at as socialist are often outperforming our own. Maybe there is something in the philosophy that government should put the Peoples interest first, rather than Business and the already Rich...The average life expectancy of Chinese citizens rose to 77.3 years in 2019, and it is expected that the data will keep growing in 2020. Meanwhile, life expectancy in the US fell to 77 years in 2020, dropping by 1.8 years compared to that of 2019.
Scandi countries are close enough to Socialist, although social democrat might be closer to the mark. China is proudly commie (whatever that means) and is killing it. Only an amerkin would consider aussie socialist (call it a nanny state then), but we be doing quite OK- I mean our healthcare alone must be worth close to a US minimum wage.
Meanwhile, in the USA- which is a wealthy country- average living standards and even recently life expectancy have been falling. Go figure. Your government should be working for You!
^ Venezuela, like Cuba, is subject to onerous US sanctions, and outright hostility. But their gains in certain areas- such as educational attainment and public health care have still been quite impressive. It's hard to say how they might be going if they were just left in peace to govern their own country, and treated like any other nation.

Clean up on aisle 10.
All prosperous European nations have elements of socialism woven into their governments. No one form of government works well on its own, they need to be combined. The nations that do this the best are the most happy and prosperous in the world.
socialising what should be called basic human services is common sense
all healthcare , housing and retirement should have socalised safety net and maybe minimums for electricity and internet run by the state
all privatisation has achieved is higher prices and less services
