An insignificant occurrence but one I found amusing.
Yesterday, I was at Tesco Lotus on Mitepab rd in KKC and while leaving I decided to pay my electric bill at the PEA booth by the exit.
It was early morning and no one was there. I walked up at one of the girls (there were 3 or 4 widows) that was busy picking her nose and asked if I could pay our electric bill.
Yes she said but you have to take a number.
I looked around and did not see anyone else there , but what the heck, rules are rules.
So I walked at the Number dispensing machine , got a number and walked back to the same girl,
she seemed happy ,
I guess the nose picking endeavour must had produced a winer.
I showed her my Number , Smiled my winning smile that unfortunately no one can see due to these damn Covid masks, and started giving her my electric bill receipt.
"You must go to the next window " she said.
Thinking that this must be the nose picking window, I begrudgingly complied, walked over to the other window , flashed my winning smile that no one can see again, explained why I was there again and proceeded to give her my bill and credit card.
"We don't take credit cards she said)
Ok I said , can I pay with my phone?
"Only cash" she replied.
I said OK but I don't have much cash, let me go to the ATM machine which is on the other side of the Tesco entrance, walked there took some money out and walked back to the PEA booth and to the same girl.
Handed her my electric bill bill and cash.
"You can't pay with that she said, we don't have change. do you have exact change.?"
No I am sorry I should had told you that before you went to the ATM machine, no nothing.
I wanted to ask her if she would take a chicken and some sunflower seed that I had, but my Thai is not that good. so I took my electric bill and walked away.
On my way home I stopped at a Mini BigC , which I guess makes it a SmallC and paid my bill.
