It does actually. Not because of what a 'Woke' person necessarily believes, but because of the fact they are, wittingly or not, part of an agenda that seeks to silence dissident or alternative opinions, and inconvenient facts. In other words, they are in lockstep with the Establishment in this regard. It is an ugly development, that makes a mockery of many of the Freedoms we supposedly held dear. It also makes you a pawn. This just bothers you, does it not?
Just to give you a real World example- why is it that the politicians and media moguls that propagated those monstrous lies about Saddam and 911, or WMD's- to 'justify' the murderous invasion of Iraq- live comfortably in their mansions and have never been held accountable? Yet those that reported the Truth- such as Phil Donahue and Peter Arnett, lost their jobs and careers? We are talking about the murder of around a million people, the dispossession of millions more, and the destruction of a nation here.
You don't think that is important- well I certainly do. I also think it is at the centre of the decline of our international standing in the world today.

^^ He isn't guilty. He never was. This isn't a thread about the disgraceful treatment of Assange, and the mockery it has made of our 'justice' system, so I will leave it there. plenty of material out there if you wish to research further.
I do it better.
I don't need to redebunk what has already been thoroughly debunked 'arry- one of the two 'victims' has already recanted her testimony, the other gone to ground, and a key prosecution witness has both recanted his testimony and declared he was coerced by agents acting for the US govt. There is no case to answer.
Rather, I would ask the reader a simple question- What does your legal or Justice system mean to You?
Is it a means to extract revenge, to punish and 'cancel' people that express opinions you do not like by any means?
Or is it an impartial body of Law and precedent, before which every person is held equal?
If your answer is the first option then you do not believe in our Justice system at all, and you have no credible grounds on which to criticise China, Russia or any other country you do not like in this regard.
Harry just supports everything English, like a football team.
He has the fervour of a convert, which suggests he's an immigrant.
sybille on the other hand is a soap dodging lefty, the usual political recourse of the envious.
Since it is the left that has promoted immigration, primarily to swell the ranks of its voters, I'd say sybille is rather stretching it.He has the fervour of a convert, which suggests he's an immigrant.
Yes, their legal systems are rather suss now aren't they. The people of HK value the fact they have their own legal system and Judiciary beyond measure.
Would you like to see our own legal system go the same way 'arry? Makes things a lot more simpler with these pesky types, dunnit?
Because that is the direction in which it is heading. Be careful what you wish for.
Let’s go for some Sabang-style whataboutism and compare US/UK style to Chinese. Honestly, boo-hoping over someone who got locked up for contempt of court.
And, yes, we have credible grounds to criticize China.
Calls Grow For Release of Wuhan Citizen Journalist on Hunger Strike
Fears are growing over the health of jailed citizen journalist Zhang Zhan after she was sent for medical treatment at the end of July for malnutrition following several months of hunger strike in a Shanghai prison.
Citizen journalist Zhang Zhan, 37, was sentenced to four years' imprisonment by Shanghai's Pudong District People's Court on Dec. 28, 2020.
One of a group of citizen journalists detained, jailed or "disappeared" after they went to the central city of Wuhan to cover the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zhang was sent to see the doctor by prison authorities on July 31 amid rising concerns for her health on hunger strike.
Her mother said via social media that her daughter currently weighs just 40 kilograms, and is seriously malnourished with swollen legs and feet.
Zhang has been eating very small amounts of food in protest at her imprisonment in order to avoid forced intubation and feeding.
She pleaded not guilty at her trial, where she appeared in court in a wheelchair.

Ex-Marine Whelan Unreachable in Russian Prison for Over a Month – Lawyer
Former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, who is convicted of espionage in Russia, has not been in touch with his family for more than a month, one of his lawyers said Tuesday.
A Moscow court last year found Whelan guilty of receiving classified information at an upscale hotel in 2018 and sentenced him to 16 years in prison. Whelan, 51, who also holds Canadian, British and Irish passports, denies the charges and says the case against him was politically motivated.
One of Whelan’s lawyers Vladimir Zherebenkov said last week that he had been placed in solitary confinement in a central Russian penal colony for an unknown infraction. The ex-Marine’s brother David Whelan said that was his second consecutive placement in solitary confinement.
“I filed a negligence complaint through the Federal Penitentiary Service’s electronic reception today,” Whelan’s other lawyer Olga Karlova told Interfax on Tuesday.
“I sent an email asking how I can talk to [Whelan] on the phone and why he hasn’t been in touch with his family and the [U.S.] embassy for more than four weeks,” Karlova said.
She said the penal colony’s administration has not responded to the requests that she had sent on July 26.
Karlova also noted that Whelan’s defense team could still file a motion at the end of every month to send him to the U.S. to serve his sentence there.
“Paul gave us the general authority” to file for his transfer on his behalf, she said.

Really, Sabang, our western court systems aren’t better than this?
I think you missed a few, although the three chinky stooges aren't going to like it. Amazing how they can turn a blind eye when it's the chinkies doing it to silence dissent.
China worst offender in record-breaking year for jailing of journalists | Press freedom | The GuardianChina worst offender in record-breaking year for jailing of journalists
China is the world’s leading jailer of journalists for the second year in a row, according to an annual survey by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), which also found that 2020 was a record year for the number of journalists imprisoned globally.
As of 1 December, at least 274 journalists were behind bars in relation to their work, according to the CPJ survey. This figure does not include those who had been arrested and released, paroled, or assaulted in the course of performing their duties.

She was made aware, by a court, she was breaking the law.
She chose to ignore the warning.
She was imprisoned for consciously breaking the law a second time.
What crime was she accused and found guilty of?
Hunger strike or eating?
And what has this to do with:
UK journalist Craig Murray jailed for 8 months
Are you familiar with his case?
Care to show the similarities?
