your "partner"is a journalist that works for a company that has employees who routinely disparage thai women as whores and prostitutes...they're corrupting the country's moral fiber with their wanton and lascivious behavior, blah, blah, blah...they say this on the air and in the office it's pervasive.
but in theory, it's a good job....pays well....puts her on a solid career path.....so she stays on and endures it as best she can. but one day, some asshole goes to a location known to be populated by thai women and starts shooting up the place with automatic weapons. this same asshole was an ardent consumer of the anti-thai woman rhetoric routinely dispersed by your "partner's" employer.
this was the final straw for your "partner"...she was devastated in part because women she knew were slaughtered in the carnage, but also because they were slaughtered solely for being thai women. she knew she had to quit and she had to speak out. so she did.

Not being racist, and i am not but wtf is a person of colour, another Americanism - we are all coloured just different shades - its a fukin ludicruus phrase that everyone is buying into and all it does is further work to separate people but the lawyers love it. That would be because the phrase is from a different register of language than everyday speech. Most languages have different registers which are used at the appropriate time.
