if sanders is "the only man who could beat trump" then why did klobuchar, o'rourke and buttigieg endorse biden?

it's because they think biden can win.

    maybe they're wrong.

    maybe you're wrong.

either way, the supporters of every candidate who doesn't get the nomination need to get on board with the eventual nominee.

They'd cut their loses for now and prefer Donald over that Commie, Bernie.

Which should lead one to understand that's there's no difference between the establishment groups - regardless of their phony baloney political identities.

In the end....doesn't matter who the Prez is, as they're all the same. Always have been.

    All quite convoluted. Very American.
    Not terribly exceptional nor enlightened.

Dow futures indicate more than 400-point pop as Biden scores early lead on Super Tuesday

Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden speaks at a campaign event in Nashua, New Hampshire, February 4, 2020.
    Rick Wilking | Reuters

    Key Points

    • U.S. stock index futures pointed to a higher Wednesday open as early voting on Super Tuesday showed former Vice President Joe Biden notching key wins.
    • As of 2:11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures indicated a pop of about 420 points at the open.
    • Investors have long applauded Biden for his middle-of-the-road tact in contrast to the more-progressive policies of Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

    Where to now?

    ---

March 11: Super Tuesday 2 — Electric Boogaloo

Another six states hold their primaries on the same day. By the end of March, more than two-thirds of the available delegates will be awarded, and we should have a pretty good idea of who the Democratic nominee will be.

    June 11-13: G7 meeting

Mr Trump hosts the G7 meeting at Camp David (moved from its original location of the Trump National Doral Resort after outrage from Congress). The world will be watching to see how leaders react to Mr Trump when the high-powered meeting is on his own turf for the first time and when he's got a re-election campaign looming in the near future.

    July 14: Democratic National Convention

The Democratic convention starts. That's when the Democratic party makes it official with the chosen candidate, and showers them with long, drawn-out speeches.
We'll almost certainly know the top candidate before then, thanks to those primary votes mentioned above.

    August 1-September 19: Congress's summer recess

Congress takes a long recess for the American summer. Expect to see plenty of politicians on the campaign trail, whether they're supporting their party's candidate or organising their own campaigns.

    August 25: Republican National Convention

TheRepublican convention starts. But no big suspense on that one. Mr Trump will be the nominee. That won't stop the party from holding a big song and dance anyway.

    September 3: Labour Day

Labour Day in America. From now there are about eight weeks left in the campaign — about the length of a long Australian election campaign.

    September 19: Early voting starts

Early voting in the presidential begins in Minnesota. Several more states start the next day.

    September 30: First presidential debate

Mr Trump and his eventual Democratic opponent take the stage for the first of three presidential debates.

    October:

There's an event you'll always want to watch for in a US presidential election. The October Surprise. It's traditionally an event or revelation that rocks a campaign. In 2016, the Access Hollywood tapes revealed Donald Trump making vulgar comments about women. Just over two weeks later former FBI director James Comey re-opened an investigation into Hillary Clinton's handling of a private email server.

    October 8: Vice presidential debate

Vice President Mike Pence will debate the running mate of the Democratic nominee. This is the only time they'll meet on the debate stage.

    October 16: Second presidential debate

The second Presidential debate will be held…

    October 23: Third presidential debate

… followed quickly by the final Presidential debate of the campaign.

    November 4: Election day

hard to argue with any of this.

the best option i've seen is to have 4 or 5 regional 'super' primary dates with 2-3 weeks between each and rotate the order every cycle.

and they need put an end to caucuses once and for all because they are demonstrably undemocratic....and they should hold the primaries on the weekend so people have time to vote.

and if they did actually do the above, they should get reduce access to early voting...with exceptions (absentee voters, medical issues, military voters, etc...) of course.

    two interesting takeaways...

sanders won OK and MN in 2016, but not this year. and biden might also take ME

biden won MA despite not having opened a field office in the state...or even holding a single campaign event there.

He was broke. Pretty clear his strong SC victory and last minute deciders have decided he is the only one who can beat Trump. As did Buttigieg and Klobuchar.

Ray, I know you are catching up after marking your Grade 2's homework.
It's even even worse ... Home State Sen. Elizabeth Warren had a disappointing night, coming in third.

reach-a-round ... being the Forums self-confessed tactical election expert, what do you suggest Warren does next to get her ship back on course and opening that door to the White House?

operating under the premise that bloomberg had the goal of winning the nomination....so far he's paid $100 million per delegate that he's won.

Why? Bernie will still take a huge haul of delegates in California and can still take the lead.

^It's good that the population is said who to vote for (when the Russians do not help)

Really a success on Samoa. One elector has cost him ca. $100M...

(How would the elections go without rich people?)
