Of course they are scared. Their almost religious belief in that they have all the answers despite evidence to the contrary has as I predicted fuelled the rise of the right. Their insane belief that multiculturalism works together with unbridled immigration is destroying the fabric of society in many countries. The British govt has jailed more people for facebook posts than Putin. Real free speech in Britain is dead and it is no longer a real democracy, if it ever was. TR is a victim of that regardless of whether you regard him as a freedom fighter or a bigoted racist. People are still scratching their heads as to how a moron like Donald Trump got elected when the left doesnt even know what a woman is.
Sweden once the darling of left progressive policies from DEI to multiculturalism is now trying to pay immigrants to leave their country. They have so many migrant problems and no go areas where Swedes fear to go its a joke. This is a pattern that is scene all over the western world aided and abetted by western liberal thinking that has crept like a cancer through universities into politics and have taken over the sensible more balance view of the centre. Groups like MAGA, Le Penne, Geert Wlilders, AFD and increasingly right wing govts in Hungary Poland Russia Italy are on the rise and have been fueled by the repression from the far left which brooks no decenting view of this cumbaya narrative. This narrative that we will all live together in peace because we are all the same is the greatest lie ever told. We are separated by religion and culture which puts our ideas of morality and way of life in conflict with each group regardless of ideas of equality. One only has too look at the plight of Christians in over 90% of muslim majority countries yet we are fed this absolute lie of the religion of peace and stupidly believe that when they come to the west they are going to change their intolerance of other religions.
Its always troubled me that when the left obtain power due to sensible and humane social policies, how, as those good progressive policies are accepted (universal health care unemployment programs etc), they inevitably, with each policy acceptance, gradually move to the dangerously radical left with policies that threaten the cohesion and freedom of society, with the gradual repeal of free speech and the roll back of reality that has these left radicals believing tripe like a man can give birth. They are so devoid of critical thinking they have no understanding of actual reality.
In short our comfortable lifestyle in the west has meant we no longer are willing to question and fight these radicals for fear of being ostracised pilloried or cancelled for daring to have a decenting view and sadly, like a cancer this radical left has gradually taken over our education system and public institutions. We have become the frogs in the pot of slowly heating water that wont move until it's too late.
People like T.R. refuse to be just another frog in the pot.

Cyrille its not that (in your opinion) I don't have a clue, the reality is you are unable to understand intellectual concepts far above your ken. Without knowing your occupation it would surprise me if you have ever left a classroom. A sort of Rumpole minus the law degree, more comfortable discussing Keats, Byron and Wordsworth with your class mates whilst chairing discussions on the importance of their preferred pronouns, rather than actually making positive contribution to the world, or even TD for that matter.

It was Stephen Yaxley Lennon who nearly collapsed a trial of a Pakistani grooming gang by reporting on it despite a necessary ban on reporting.

Tommy Robinson is due to be released from prison in days after his sentence for the civil offence of contempt of court was reduced by four months at the High Court.

The far-right political activist, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was jailed for 18 months in October last year after admitting breaching a 2021 High Court order banning him from repeating false allegations against a Syrian refugee who successfully sued him for libel.

The sentence was made up of a 14-month "punitive" element and a four-month "coercive" element, with sentencing judge Mr Justice Johnson telling Robinson he could have the latter taken off his sentence if he were to "purge" his contempt by taking steps to comply with the injunction.

Robinson applied to purge his contempt at a hearing on Tuesday, with his lawyers telling the court he had shown "commitment" to comply with the order.

Lawyers for the Solicitor General agreed Robinson had taken steps to adhere to the injunction.

In a ruling, Mr Justice Johnson said while there was an "absence of contrition or remorse" from Robinson, he had shown a "change in attitude" since he was sentenced.

He said: "He [Robinson] has given an assurance that he will comply with the injunction in the future, that he has no intention of breaching it again, and that he is aware of the consequences of what would happen if he breached the injunction again."

He continued: "I consider it appropriate to grant the application."

He added: "The practical effect, subject to confirmation by the prison authorities, is that the defendant will be released once he has completed the punitive element, which I understand will be within the next week."

Robinson was originally due to be released on 26 July.

After he was jailed, Robinson lost a bid to bring a legal challenge against the Ministry of Justice over his segregation from other prisoners in March.

He then lost a legal challenge to his sentence at the Court of Appeal in April, but three senior judges said he could "still reduce the period he has to spend in custody by taking the steps identified" by Mr Justice Johnson.
