The economic travails of individual countries within the EU do not in themselves mean that leaving the EU was an anything but idiot move.
NOBODY has ever implied that the EU was some fairytale land immune from Asian competition, you verbose blundering moron.
Quit with that blatant strawman.
I'm a little bemused since inflation is lower and wages higher in Germany compared to UK.
Germany is having its problems, but nothing like the UK.
the EU has very few net contributors, yermany by far the largest, double the cheese eating surrender monkies and not far off the sum of all the other net contributors combined - as soon as budgets get mentioned all eyes turn to yermany you fukin idiot. The reality is your concept of EU stability holds as much credibility as a Liz Truss Govt , civil servants sheesh. You are as clued as some of the current generation i have to sift through for jobs.

What would you expect ?
EU is a Paper Tiger, who nobody, except for the "SuperPower Romancers" in Benelux, France and Germany, would give a shit about, if it wasn't for the Pork.
Feet of Clay
Troy, Cyrille, SA and all the others care about money.
(and can't forget that they were on the ..losing side )
I like self determination
Get on with it
Now the idiot Brexiters can't even get their much needed meds. helge's substantial supply obviously remains unaffected.
Drug shortages, now normal in UK, made worse by Brexit, report warns | Drugs | The Guardian
Germany has a current trade balance of around €27 billions whereas the UK has a trade deficit of around €3 billions.
Germany is of course in the process of realigning its extensive energy supplies but the situation continues to improve and its debt to GDP ratio remains at around 64% whereas in the UK the debt to GDP ratio is 100%.
The UK out of the EU faces a continuing decline with a recurring annual trade loss of £100 billions.
Which is why £ Sterling remains languishing at $1.25, a full 20% devaluation that has persisted continuously since 2016.
BrokendowndirtyBrexitBritain. So apt.
Helge is clearly unbalanced. Is he an alcoholic?
All bullshit and scaremongering.
From the Guardian. It is not just a UK phenomenon. A recent European Association of Hospital Pharmacists survey reported that 95% of hospital pharmacists across Europe were experiencing shortages. An EU medicines shortage working party met last month to discuss a critical shortage of five key medicines, with impediments to supply said to include the impact of the war in Ukraine on supply chains, a European Medicines Agency recommendation to suspend use of about 400 medicines tested by an Indian laboratory, as well as attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the extra regulatory paperwork that arises in some chains of supply due to Brexit.

From the same Guardian article.
"As of 18 December, the list of medicinal shortages in the UK included 96 products, according to the British Generic Manufacturers Association. Thats is down on the 111 such shortages at the end of October but there have been a further 10 supply notifications from DHSC since then. The total is close to double the 52 medicines for which there was an issue in January 2022."

From another Guardian article
The EU is to stockpile key medicines that will worsen the record drug shortages in the UK, with experts warning that the country could be left “behind in the queue”.
The EU is seeking to safeguard its supplies by switching to a system in which its 27 members work together to secure reliable supplies of 200 commonly used medications, such as antibiotics, painkillers and vaccines.
But the bloc’s move to insulate itself from growing drug shortages threatens to exacerbate the increasing scarcity of medicines facing the NHS, posing serious problems for doctors.
“Europe is securing access to key drugs and vaccines as a single region, with huge influence and buying power.
As a result of Brexit the UK is now isolated from this system, so our drug supplies could be at risk in the future,” said Dr Andrew Hill, an expert on the pharmaceutical trade.
Britain is experiencing a record level of drug shortages, with more than 100 – including treatments for cancer, type 2 diabetes and motor neurone disease – scarce or impossible to obtain.
Mark Dayan, the Brexit programme lead at the Nuffield Trust health thinktank, said the EU’s decision to act as a buying cartel could seriously disadvantage Britain.
“There is a real risk that measures in such a large neighbour, which is now a separate market due to Brexit, will leave the UK behind in the queue when shortages strike,” Dayan said.
I would like to apologize to anyone I have not yet offended. Please be patient, I will get to you shortly.
The report by the Nuffield Health Trust makes it clear BREXIT is not the sole cause of the shortage...
But Britain’s departure from the EU in 2020 has significantly aggravated the problem, laid bare the “fragility” of the country’s medicines supply networks and could lead to the situation worsening, the report said.
“A clear picture emerged of underlying fragilities at a global and UK level, not fundamentally rooted in Brexit but exacerbated by it in some specific ways, especially through some companies removing the UK from their supply chains,” it said.
The UK’s exit from the single market has disrupted the previously smooth supply of drugs, for example through the creation of a requirement for customs checks at the border, as has Britain’s decision to leave the EU’s European Medicines Agency and start approving drugs itself. The UK is now much slower than the EU at making new drugs available, the report found.
^ Numpty was having his usual go at Germany falling apart at the seams. There is no need to compare other eu countries.
That someone can continue to use the term 'scaremongering' regarding the monumental fluckup that is BREXIT is quite staggering.
Erm no I wasn't. I acknowledge the UK is in a mess, not all Brexit related as Seeking Botty Would have us believe but I was pointing out that Germany is also struggling, as are many other EU countires. The difference with Germany is that the EU depends upon it financially as it contributes roughly half of the contributions to pay for the 18 countries who are net takers in the EU. If German is in trouble the EU is in trouble.
I presume posters saw this gem last week and read the comments of the beleaguered British holidaymakers threatening to boycott Spain as this is "just because of Brexit...Spain is a poor country and they don't realise how much they need us."
What is Spain's 'PS97 a day rule' and how can I prove that I have the right funds?
Yet another episode in the "this is what you voted for" series.
Britain, the new coon state in Europe.
^ Indeed, the EU is admitting as many coons and ragheads as it can.
