Maybot will push every button on her console just to stay in power, she has no idea what shes doing or where shes going with Brexit, lurching from one disaster to the next, will the UK crash out without a deal or revoke A50 and stay in, who the fuck really knows, toss a coin.

The results of the new YouGov poll found 56% would vote to stay in the EU and 44% would vote to leave. The 12 point lead for Remain is the largest margin since the referendum two and a half years ago. It’s also three times as big as the winning four-point margin Leave achieved in the 2016 vote.

Maybe it's biased and maybe some people are sick of the word Brexit.

There will be no ref2, that sort of mallarky is reserved for third world countries and military governments.

What are the odds of a second referendum?

The odds of the UK holding a second referendum this year is currently 7/4 according to Coral, while the current odds of leaving with a no deal Brexit on 29 March is 3/1.

This means that the odds suggest there is a higher chance of us returning to the polls than leaving the EU without a deal. Betfair is currently offering 13/8 odds of a second referendum, while William Hill has it set at 6/4.

Yeah, you can trust the polls as much as you could trust them two years ago. 555

Did the Queen just tell the Maybot to stop pissing about and listen to alternative ideas? All very politely of course.

The Maybot needs to be given another script to read. She is obviously nothing more than a mouthpiece and can't answer the simplest questions, just reading her statements repeatedly.

    Roll on Tuesday...

I am not exactly sure how Brexit can be stopped right now. Educate me. The prime minister can but won't. Does the parliament have means to force the hand of the prime minister? What would that be?

Stomping their feet and shouting "No Brexit without a good deal" won't do.
On Monday the Plan B motion was put to parliament. This week amendments to the motion have been tabled. On Tuesday there will be a vote on Plan B. The Speaker will select a number of amendments that can be debated and voted upon.

If Plan B is defeated, which is likely since it is nothing more than Plan A, although some change must be made to allow a new vote, then the amendments will be voted on. One, from Hilary Benn, is a non-binding vote on several options to guage the house on the best way forward. Another, from Yvette Cooper aims at extending A50 for up to 9 months to allow a majority solution to be found. This amendment would open the door to prevent a default no-deal Brexit.

The Maybot has issued instructions for Tory MPs not to vote against the Government on these amendments. If members of her Cabinet go against her wishes they'll have to resign their positions (eg Amber Rudd). Backbenchers could lose the whip, but they will probably rebel anyway.

Labour have said they will support the Yvette Cooper amendment and I imagine they will support Hilary Benn as well.

The Speaker, Bercow, is very likely to pick amendments that will force debate and a majority solution in Parliament.

The Maybot is already toast and is about to fall on the floor butter side down.

No she didn't. Obviously she told everyone to respect the referendum, get on with Brexit and stop moaning about it.

Hammond has changed his tune since he was caught on a conference call with British business leaders. Has Mrs May reminded him who the prime minister is?

Or has he finally accepted that a hard Brexit is inevitable.

The last time the Queen made a similar point about respecting the other side, was on the eve of the Scottish referendum. If only butterfly had such subtlety.

No deal is the legal default without a deal.

Seems all Doris has to do is get the EU to put a time limit on the backstop and Boris, Mogg and the DUP will support her deal meaning it will probably get through. The EU said they won't put a time limit on the backstop as recently as yesterday but will they back down to save Doris and her deal as basically only hope they all have of getting it voted on.

A time limited backstop shouldn't be any problem if the default (in case of no other agreement during the time limit) is a hard border.

^^ I don't know man, you are dealing with 2 face shifting UK politicians, like their Thai counterparts, they will vote where there is a personal interest for them, may it be monetary or otherwise

Sounds like you're saying the referendum poll result was untrustworthy?

Or is it only the polls that don't give the results you want that you deem untrustworthy?

I like Liddle. Don’t always agree with him but he is amusing. The article in question was a bit condescending, even for the Sun, which is why I knew Cyrille would like it.
