Has May had a stroke? Watch her walking down the plane steps to be met by 3 or 4 officials:

Most satellites are the product of months and sometimes years of work which can fail in an instant - that's a Defence Standard risk you have to build into materials, production and working environment - not all countires can and even those at the peak of their game get it wrong.

I think you will find that Germany has lost its appetite for bankrolling the EU. Markell has already said no more, and decided to retire. As a paragon of healthy industrial virtue, the people are heartily sick of underwriting EU ambitions.
The rest of the members have grown accustomed to this German largesse, and won’t give up the teat willingly.
Because Germany elects by proportional representation, it may take a while to filter down, but even the Greens and the Christians realise that Germany has done more than enough to assuage its guilt over the last century.

new week ahead, new circus show to come

Brexit: Theresa May seeks to reassure world leaders
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-46415567

"For the first time in more than four decades, the UK will have an independent trade policy," she told reporters at a press conference.

"That this deal sets a path for the UK to a brighter future has been affirmed by the discussions I've had on trade over the past two days with friends and partners making clear that they are keen to sign and implement ambitious free trade agreements as soon as possible."

Analysis: Support for May's Brexit deal seems to be shrinking

By Laura Kuenssberg, BBC political editor

Asked if this might be her last overseas trip, the prime minister insisted "there's a lot more for me to do".

A senior member of the government told me not only would she not have discussions about losing the vote - only about how to win it - but that those who believed that Theresa May would quit if her deal fell were misreading her.

They said that she would "not go until she was forced to go" and, contrary to some of the speculation in Westminster, even a heavy defeat for her plan would not automatically see her depart.

Of course, many of her critics - and the opposition parties - would beg to differ.

fucking love that answer, so typically British

The prime minister was also quizzed about her meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - who she shook hands with - on Friday.

She did not say whether she had confronted him directly over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul in October.

"What I said to the Crown Prince yesterday was the importance of a full, credible and transparent investigation that identifies those who were involved and the importance of ensuring that those who were involved are held to account," she said.

So now you're an expert on the German view as well as the UK one. An opinion held by many Germans and others from the EU is that the UK is more trouble than it's worth so good riddance.

You seem to be suggesting that having an opinion on more than one country invalidates my views?

Having lived and worked in Germany for over 10 years gives me an opportunity to understand the country, it’s people and it’s politics.

Germany is more concerned about Germany than UK or the EU. At least Germany has credible leadership, for now. The UK lacks serious leadership. On that, I’m sure we can agree.

I am suggesting that your opinion is fine to post but if you want to give an opinion about the Germans then provide a link from whence it came. Do you think being a member of BAOR and/or BFG is relevant to today?

I doubt Brexiteers will get the hard Brexit they wanted- like it or not, big business matters more and carries more clout than us mere mortals. The threats of a civil war are laughable. It will be soft Brexit or no Brexit-either works for me.

    Ditto on the hard Brexit.

A civil war is between citizens of the same country, not the dramatised movie version of grand armies storming across the plains.

Not what I want or hope for, but insane levels of discontent are being ignored and left to fester in many parts of Europe, and as the EU fails which imho is likely to certain the risks increase. So laugh your head off, or start listing those giants like the EU that have managed to fragment without civil warfare.

Where or what it kicks it off is arguable, debatable and in context of this thread irrelevant; but as with others how it's handled by its own and other govs in the early stages will determine where it goes. Stating the obvious? Sure, and in our mad world stating the obvious should be done more often to reckless leaders.

Well, well, well. A video of her saying it or it's a Russian hack.

Are you observing these signs of impending civil war from Pattaya, jabby, or what? I mean presumably the revolutionary pulse isn't just being felt vicariously via the daily mail or similar? Seriously...are you posting this guff from Chonburi?

^ Jabir's gloating over the eventual demise of the EU is hardly going to help with the UK's current predicament.

The Sunday Times had some good articles on Brexit today, I liked the report that the Government spin doctors are claiming PM May might lose the Commons vote by 200 votes ... to lower expectations and making anything better look like a victory of sorts...

Will she resign if her deal is defeated by a large margin or will she carry on regardless?

So, in 6 months time we'll have Corbyn as PM leading a UK back into the EU and riding an economic miracle.

Heyo, ever heard of technology? It's that weird thing which allows people on one side of the planet to see what's going on at the other.

And something for your pipe, it's often easier to form an accurate view of things from the outside than from the inside. Try it sometime, if you think you could cope!

Yes, Chonburi it is, though could well be Nakhon somewhere else.
