Euro falls sharply as ECB vows to keep printing money until 2024

The euro has slumped against the dollar after the ECB vowed to keep printing money until 2024.

The central bank said it will continue its programme of quantitative easing “for an extended period time”.

It also said its pandemic-era bond-buying programme will continue until at least the end of 2024.

The euro slumped 0.8pc against the dollar, briefly trading below parity.

The ECB also raised interest rates by 75 basis points to 1.5pc – its third consecutive increase and taking rates to the highest since January 2009.

I left because I got bored and I had no reason to stay. I was able to exercise my freedom of choice. Troy suggests that I was in a hurry? Why is that Troy? Such blinding assumptions are born of a personal dislike of someone or something. Is the fact that Cyrille dislikes my lifestyle or my political views really such a problem? Only when he finds it so frustrating, that he has to tell lies about me. Such disinformation is now passed on to Troy, who may disagree with my politics, but, he is at least honest enough to recognize that assumption as being incorrect.

I don’t owe anyone any explanation about my motives for relocating. I have no need to antagonize authorities in any country. I comply with such regulation as is necessary, despite the inconvenience and inconsistency of Thai immigration authorities and the grant of super powers to immigration officers, who have such broad discretion to enable incompetency in their application and interpretation of regulations.

Basically, I was bored and wanted a change. It was easy, because I had made the decision to de-clutter my life a few years earlier.

At no time did I fall foul of the authorities in Thailand. Never any need to. I was always unfailingly punctual, appropriately dressed and polite, with the correct documentation. Such good manners are appropriate in any government office, in any country, no matter how corrupt they might be individually.

The only problem I have with lies such as the one perpetrated by Cyrille, is that such lies can grow and affect normal folk like Troy, who now seems to believe that I was in a hurry. I was not.

The original lie is perpetrated by a person who dislikes me, and the fact that my opinions differ from his! Lies of this nature might so easily be misinterpreted by others. This why the truth is so important to me in this case.
