And yeah, surely the likes of Malaysia and Vietnam will be itching to make the savings which will come from employing workers in the UK.

And the question remains: just what the fuck will this minor manufacturing state that is Brxitania sell to the world that it couldn't before Brexit?

The UK is busy replicating deals that already existed before it came a trading oddity yet it commemorates this wondrous new chapter in its trading life by re-introducing tariff barriers with its major trading partner a mere 22 miles distant that it dismantled over 48 years ago and marked this stupid event by demolishing its own fishing industry in four weeks.

    Rule Brexitania!

for fucks sake s.a. put a sock in it. you have been boring the arse off us all with your foul mouthed insulting rants for years now, attacking posters personally with a vehemence that reveals more about the precarious state of your failing mind than it does about the economy and future prospects of the 5th largest economy in the world.

paddystan, your spiritual home, was very nearly sold down the river by that stupid kraut vdl in her latest post menopausal power play and still you prostrate yourself at the altar of aggressive federalism that is the eu.

can't you see that she stitched you up like a fucking kipper and will do so again if it can further their agenda. they did it to greece, to italy, to portugal and they will do it to the vapid micks too if it serves the needs of the pompous french and the domineering krauts. yet still you submissively suck their filthy cocks and their fishy fannies.

the uk are well out of it, and you are welcome to the sweaty socks too when they decide to jump ship.

The UK is worlds 5th biggest economy
    Yeah nah

The only reason they can claim that is because of the capital flight into the UK from the Gulf oil producers and the general financial fuckery inside the city

By any other economic data you can think of, its usually lower than 5th.

    Manufacturing output 8th
    Merchandise exports 11th
    Foreign exchange reserves 17th
    oil consumption 19th

It's just a proxy for real economic activity. Japan is the 3rd biggest economy and it consumes the 4th most oil.

But hey. Keep telling yourself that you are the 5th biggest economy if it makes you feel good.

The rabid Brexit moron is utterly indoctrinated to believe the absurdity that the EU is a controlling power taking over state sovereignty through its jackboot of socio-economic-political oppression, a fantasy every bit as egregious and bogus as the nazi doctrine of blaming Jews for all German ills.

Quite amusing and as telling of an inferior intellect as a tattooed, shaven-headed oik garbed in a shabby and dirty tracksuit.

So, did those nasty - wasty, evil Europeans tell Blighty-Wighty to go to war in Iraq, to increase its VAT rate to 20%, to buy debt from American shyster banks, or, and this is the real kicker, did the EU stop the Brxit referendum????

So, and here we go again, Tax, tell us all what is it the UK are going to sell to the world that the EU prevented them from doing before Brexit, you gormless airhead.

And in what sense has the Brexit imposed trade controls, demanded by the ERG fanatics and adopted by Bozo and his cabinet of Orcs, increased exports by the million or so British SMEs to the EU? I'd be grateful to hear Tax, me old dipshit tyke, because all the reports I read are telling me that the problems they face are endemic and forcing them into bankruptcy.

And how long did this quite reasonable embargo against vaccines from Eire to NI ( the closing of the backdoor to the filthy English and their plantation colonial orphans was a matter of logistics and taken by technocrats unused to the perspective of a wider context ) last? Eight fucking hours, that's how long it took for the Commission to realise its mistake, eight pissing little hours.

And how long did it take for the clown Bozo to act in leading the UK in its measures against the pandemic???? Two fucking months and with that delay, and subsequent botched, half-arsed protocols that repeated the same mistakes over a fucking year, over 100,000+ dead have piled up with estimates of another 150,000 to die from lack of timely medical intervention.

That UK Bozo inspired carnage, ably assisted by his cabinet of Orcs, all chosen not for their competence but for their devotion to the cult of Brexitmania, equals the total Franco - German deaths with just over half their combined population.

Yep, BrokendownbrexitBritain is a fucking success story. And its going to sell Primark badged tat to the fucking Pruvians.

Har, har..........the fucking economic disaster of the century that just keeps on giving, and giving.

Brexiteers, Engerlund's Trumpanzees but without the brains.

It's rare one finds a congruence with your views, usually as rational as those expressed by a recently decapitated chicken, but I have to agree with you on this issue.

The size of the British economy is little more now than a function of its debt underpinned by a services oriented sector contributing 80% of its entire GDP but the metrics make for grim reading and the UK's descent in the table of big league players is pretty much assured now that the COVID indebtedness is combining with the Brexit induced economic contractions expected to last for a decade shaving 2% annually from growth - debt to GDP ratio now stands at 102%.

In terms of manufacturing the UK is less than Italy and soon to be surpassed by Spain. And certainly, when Scotland leaves the Union, the UK will be a relative minnow and frankly not eligible for inclusion in the G7 group of nations.

Like any post colonial empire trading on its ever-increasing emotive bombast andl xenophobic parochialism, it's running on fumes from an old engine that is pretty nearly clapped out - manufacturing contribution to GDP is but a mere 9% and with the Brexit fallout that figure will decrease when one takes into account the impediment to trade between Britain and the EU created by reimposition of customs and excise protocols, a trading bloc destination that accounted for over 48% of Britain's manufacturing output.

In EU terms the UK is now of course a third country on par with Peru which is quite apt since the two are now to pair under the terms of the TPP agreement to be signed by Blighty.

I wonder what its new name will be when NI and Scotland leave. Engerwal or Moronia?

To be fair, possibly a first for TD, having spoken with family and friends in Blighty these past months, the moan that kept recurring is that the UK is becoming a 3W country, and its leaders appear unable to see it.

Not just covid, not just Brexit, not just the shambles they call the NHS, everything seems to be beyond the capability of the gov to address.

If you want more, however poorly most of them they portray life in the UK, their individual and collective fear is that the country is at risk of Labour taking the next election. That's how bad it is.

Reminder: Let squirrel and monkeyman know I'm aware this is not a representative sample, and quite honestly I haven't had time to discuss it with every person in the UK.

That's because they don't want their taxes going up to pay for a community outreach centre for the Neasden Asian LGBTQ Collective and similar.

Nope, and you've gone all defensive on the Labour era too

The social and structural problems have been left to grow unresolved for at least 40 years - pick who you want to blame in that timeframe

There's been a tory government in power for the last ten years, ffs.

They own the dung heap they've reduced the country to.

Clearly you've got nothing and you're fooling nobody.

I can only wish the Scots good luck in their renewed bid to cut their losses.

My brother got an Irish passport and has escaped the whole shit show by buying a house in Western France, so well done to him.

Its a shame he won't be around to contribute to the country's recovery, so another one much like your good self who'll snipe from the sidelines

I do hope you'll both remember your birth country when it comes time to claim your Govt pensions, of course you will.
