Sometimes one truly does marvel at the stupidity of the English who failed to understand that as a consequence of trying to implement the single, stupidest socio-economic measure in their entire modern political history their economy flatlined for an entire quarter up to Jan 2020.

And as if this imbecility was not enough, we now see their reaction to a government that failed to take any action for weeks against the impending epidemic which has precipitated a death rate among its citizens that threatens to outnumber the casualty figures of Europe combined - a mawkish absurdity of stunted idiocy with thousands standing outside their doorways dementedly clapping their hands like a species of deranged simians paying homage to their own frailty.

    Truly a national embarrassment.

Indeed, you have somewhat aptly described the majority that voted for Brexit who are in truth no more than a lumpen rabble roused by demagogues into a frenzy of stupidity expressed in a democratic process culminating in a decision that was as considered as graffiti scrawled in shite on a municipal toilet door.

You have to take credit where credit is due, eh Jabber?

    ^^ Sab,

the funny thing is the UK contribution to the EU for organizational structure and political targets were very effective, but internal politics on sovereignty (EuroSkeptics etc...) impaired all that good will from the English staff over the years and decade,

eventually the UK political leaders were sabotaging all the good work done by the UK civil servants at the EU level, it couldn't go on

John Major in 1992/3 referred to this rump of disaffected right wing old tuskers, mostly racist and rooted in 1950s bigotry, as The Bastards. They were very much on the extreme side of the Tory party but when Farage exploited the lumpen lower end feeding off the rising resentment at the post 2008 crash inspired austerity regime this tawdry and raddled crew finally found their natural constituency i.e the stupid, the deluded, the ignorant and the bigoted. As well as dismantling the modern Tory party this rotten rabble has destroyed Britain's fine contribution to the European project and in the process has in fact undermined the entire civil service bedrock.

As we are now seeing nothing works properly, the British government today is an incoherent, vacillating ragbag of clueless nonentities incapable of devising policy or coordinating civl service departments who they continually scapegoat for their own inadequacies.

BoJo and Cummings should have died.

Tories extremists were the coronavirus of the British political system, it was a just a question of time before that virus was released to do the damage it was designed for,

you can't hardly blame them for doing what they were designed for,

it's just the British system was not immune to such extremists, and the writing was on the wall, first BNP, then UKIP, and then Brexit, yet it was ignored and ridiculed by the "my shit not smell" moderates, what a mistake

it remains to be seen if the patient can survive, but you guys are fooked politically for sure

I think that old system was programmed to be destroyed eventually, great empires are always destroyed from within, not by external forces

I think you are right Butters, the English are deteriorating into an ersatz American blob of ever burgeoning sacks for food sporting baseball caps communicating endless cliches intuit awful American pseudo coon jargon.

When I saw them all hanging out of their suburban bothies clapping their hands like a whooping studio audience of gormless septics caterwauling their approbation in a godawful mawkish display of grotesque emotionalism I realised England was fucked.

Honestly, I simply cannot identify with them. Ugly, fat, stupid and ignorant and the men aren't much better.

The supposedly apolitical civil service have undermined all big spending ministries. Health, education, social services and even, a much smaller ministry of defence.
Where costs can be followed, you can be sure that a highly politicized civil servant has been busy growing an empire with expensive tastes, and massive cost over runs.
This is especially true in health and education, where costs have ballooned out of control, under the auspices of some recalcitrant civil servant who has authorised increasing administration costs, at the expence of front line services.
Look at what happened when Patel moved in to the home office, and a very senior civil servant left in tears.

A perception that could only come from one who is clearly unhampered by any knowledge of the subject upon which he is seeking to pontificate.

Incidentally, I have had firsthand knowledge of Patel and can confirm that she is quite, quite stupid and clearly was only elevated from the ranks of mere party fodder by virtue of her gender and ethnicity.

Like all such folk when foolishly given power she abuses it in inverse proportion to her ability to wield it.

May in the end had to get rid of the ghastly little dwarf but her re-selection as cabinet minister is of course testament to BoJo the Clown's general ineptitude and penchant for idiocy.

Pity he has evidently survived, I rather think tragedy would have suited him.

I think, as an essential part of the new broom sweeping out the bone idle detritus of the British civil service, we should reduce their pensions & entitlements too.

You and the civil service operate as an anachronism. The UK electorate, and successive governments have been fucked over by an uncivil service and its stultifying adherence to an unwritten political code that, “we know best”.
The reason the country has been a toilet for decades is because the civil service have strangled at birth, any policy that threatens the status quo.
Patel kicked her mandarin in the nuts for refusing to implement government policy. It’s high time more ministers followed suit.
As for wishing the ultimate sanction on the PM, that just reinforces your reputation as an arrogant leper. I’m sure Karma will get you in the end.

I have already made known my view but I rather think you are either too stupid or addled to comprehend it.

Look nothing personal, but corresponding with you is a bit like playing tennis with a blind opponent.
