The British steel industry with its second quality steel has been hit by China's mass dumping of the same second quality steel on the world market, other European steel producing countries like Finland, Sweden, and Germany has not been affected in the same way because they produce first quality steel or special types of steel.
Britain has been out-competed so stop whining, move away from producing what is already mass produced. Not even your own navy wants British steel in their boats..
The British government has subsided its steel industry heavily over the years and are still doing so by covering a £1million daily loss since British Steel went insolvent 8 month ago.
Your idea that EU has hindered Britain from saving its steel industry is just another example of Britons blaming EU for everything.
This is sooo telling of why Britain is not compatible with EU. :) I guess you don't even understand whats wrong in that sentence..
There was a time when British built meant something, but that was an awfully long time ago. Not a lot of British built stuff in our house apart from porcelain and furniture...
There isn't anything wrong with that sentence.
A government's job is to support its own workers, not other nations. In a crony capitalist world where corporations are not bound by nation states, their corrupt dealings with politicians, the well known revolving door politics for example, result in politicians selling out their nation for profit (to some extent this has happened since the dawn of time...) rather than supporting the national economy, workforce, social development, etc.
Globalism, neoliberalism and crony capitalism go hand in hand, and drive the ever widening wealth gap; Blair and his Saudi, Israeli, Colombian cronies sit in their mega-yachhts scheming ever more ways to increase their personal bank accounts and global reach/control while the citizens of their countries suffer the consequences.
As we saw in the UK Labour party - basic socialist ideas and neoliberal globalism do not go together well; the people benefit from good communities, social care and opportunity while the globalists benefit from removing them...
British steel manufacturers were nationalised by Clement Atlee in his Labour government of 1951 but this was reversed in 1953 by Churchill. In 1967 Wilson's Labour government re-nationalised it but it was again de-nationalised by Thatcher's Tory government in 1988 since when it has been allowed to wither on the vine of redundancy.
Just a breath of reality to clear the stale fart of gibberish expelled by Battyboob.
Lack of investment, outdated practices, poor productivity and a shrinking domestic market led to its destruction which Thatcher precipitated by slashing its scope.
Usual pattern, years of Tory misrule and poor management of resources sacrificing effective long term strategies for short term greed.
He is certainly a weird chap and his ramblings suggest an eccentricity verging on mental disturbance.
Never mind chaps, in 8-10 years time if you are still about then you can take us all to task over what a disaster this Govt has been.
Its looking good for Labour at present, it doesn't matter which candidate comes forward they have to appease the loony left momentum nutters.Your mate Keir is going to have a real job to do singing out Comrade Corbyn's mantras coz that's the only way he'll get elected. :smileylaughing:
He was an utter kunt; hard to deny.

Is an utter kunt...
And his slimy Scottish mate Gordon Brown, a bigger cnut.
Google.Quote:
Gordon Brown’s decision to sell off Britain’s gold reserves was the ‘single worst investment of modern times’, it was claimed last night.
Twenty years ago this week the then-chancellor started selling off a significant share of the reserves, when the price of bullion was at a 20-year low.
Over three years, Mr Brown sold 401 tons of gold out of the Treasury’s 715 ton holding, at an average price of $275 an ounce.
The sale generated around $3.5billion – or £2.4billion. If Mr Brown had kept the gold, it would now be worth around £17billion.
Blair was fine until he went loony with the Americans in Iraq with the denials following it,
in true British style, he shot himself in the foot out of stubbornness
like Maybot did, and a few others will after
Sucking Dubya's cock was a mistake but then, all British PMs go the same way once they cross the pond and get their arse tickled by a Potus.
Ever since Churchill sold Britain out to the septics it's been the form for PMs to get on their knees and the only issue is whether they spit or swallow.
Churchill should have surrendered to the Germans, wouldn't have change the outcome of the war, and at the end you would be better off now, better united with the scarce of wars as an invaded country etc... to better integrate with a united Europe against war
and german sausages would have a different meaning,
Yeah, it was the whole god squad angle regarding Iraq that stuck in the craw.
Later that wanker showed up more often in my workplace in Abu Dhabi than many a manager when he was there on the scrounge from the sheikhs as the UN's peace emissary or whatever it was.
They saw straight through him of course.
So yes Blair is a pos, but mainly because he fits right in on the continuum of tory pos that has lead us to this solely self interested clown by the name of Johnson.
Airbus Pledges Expansion in the U.K. After Brexit
Airbus SE signaled that it’s ready to move beyond a previously uneasy relationship with the U.K. over Brexit, saying the future of its British wing plants is secure and pledging to work with the government to expand a business that goes from helicopter maintenance to planetary rovers.

The return cycle of ebb and flow, scare tactics didn't work and they can no longer pretend to despise profits; thank Buddha for that, we won't need to eat the kids.
Actually, if the Brits had capitulated, an act that would have been more or less certain had Guderian's tanks not been ordered to stop short of Dunkirk, then the US would not have had a base from which to launch an invasion of the Continent assuming of course the septics declared war on the krauts. With only one front to worry about it is doubtful Stalin could have withstood the onslaught in 1941 onwards.
The Germans would have had free rein of the Atlantic and with the French and British navies under Hitler's control it is unlikely that Roosevelyt could have mustered much domestic support for war. The Jap angle is interesting and one wonders how things would have panned out if a victorious Nazi regime pressured the septics into accepting Nipponese demands for concessions in the Pacific - essentially the entire European axis in colonial exploitation of SE Asia would have ben wiped out forever in 1940 leaving Japan free rein.
Indeed, the world would have been a very different place - possibly no nuclear weapons, no Middle East problems and an Africa subordinate to German imperialism with a Russia no more than a slave camp, similar to what China may well have become under Japan's occupation.
Er, no, not quite. Faury the new Airbus CEO was at a dinner in London attended by Leadsom during which everyone was being nice and polite and cutypie sweet. His speech in fact raised an optimistic note citing the potential for expansion etc was there for the taking provided blah, blah.
If the ERG nutters and BoJo go for little or no alignment and maintain the bullish attitude of undercutting the EU in order to enhance a competitive edge not available through higher productivity, talent or marketable goods, then the cherries will be taken off the table, naturally. If you ditch the common tariff regime totally then it's bye-bye to Airbus and of course BMW etc.
All up to the ERG nazis and the Clown, in the end. You dump this Britannia's New World Empire bullshit and maybe you get a deal but you will have to suck on some EU cock.
Disagree, Russians were all over, they won WW2 on the continent, the allies were just cherry on the cake, the heavy lifting was done by the Russians
one could argue that the immediate invasion on Normandy, at great human costs, and a crazy strategy that only Hitler could dream of, was there to stop the Russians from progressing further and claim total victory
but in reality, the Great War as it is called in Eastern Europe countries, is really the defeat of the Germans by Russia, and it was brutal
the allies did fuck all, but granted, France and the rest of the continent would have been under total Russian control without that 'superficial' intervention by the allies
the real heavy lifting by the Americans was done on the Asian front, with the Australians
not sure about the British though, like you said, they were simply there to provide a base for Europe, they were already on their knees militarily
the irony is that V day is promoted heavily every year in the UK,
But there is surely a difference of the occupying forces based in Germany and the friendly forces based in UK (for 75 years after the war), isn't it?
Yah...
An entire page of delusional drivel from seeking ass and buttplug, rising to a concise finish from Cy.
Has a new type of LSD been released? Psychotropic doesn’t even come close.
Easy, they can't bear the thought of UK making a success of it.
