The EU offered a free trade deal which David Davis had negotiated then Doris rejected it for reasons only beknown to her. The Brexit clusterfuk lies solely on Doris shoulders, but then again she always saw Brexit as a problem rather than an opportunity. Roll on the Euro elections where we will see a Tory and Labour wipe out and let's hope voters do the same in the not to distant GE.

deleted, oops, replied about wrong deal! Sorry

Or maybe not - what is this FTA that the EU offered Davis? Do you mean Canada Plus? If so then Barnier said he quite liked it but it never came for the EU. It was all Davis's doing, there were no negotiations and it was never offered by the EU to the UK.

If you don't mean Canada Plus what was it?

I'm beginning to realize that even though you're a smart fella, you have an autistic-like issue with context. I'm not being snarky here. If you cannot gather from recent to-and-fros that my line "Good news for Bobbie: one of his favourites will be running for an EU parliament position" is humour then there's a comprehension issue. The habit of both taking overtly ironic, sarcastic, idiomatic comments literally and calling folks a 'liar' time after time are traits of mild Asperger's - and, I don't say that as an insult.

Ah, the old irony card. Nice try, Betty. Leave the sarcasm, irony, and idioms to people with some literary skills. There's a knack to conveying irony and you just don't have it. Here's a hint, a patently false statement of "you said x" is neither humorous, sarcastic, or ironic, it's a lie.

Not folks, just you. To be fair, you were a fairly decent chap until Brexit turned you into a poor man's Roderick Spode.

Just going from memory it was some Canada ++++ deal that the EU offered but Doris rejected it. Would have probably got that through instead of her clusterfuk deal.

I don't think it would. The main problem was it would have meant a hard border in Ireland. May said it was worse than no-deal.

I can see why parliament is having so much difficulty, with no brexit deal having any economic attractions. Time for someone to big-up and tell the country it's all been a nightmare and remain is the best alternative, just like it's always been. I

Sorry, Troy. You are 3 years too late for that argument. Get over it. The country voted for Brexit so Brexit it will be. Or fucking should be.

You think it was about economic attractions for many? People who have seen their communities become unrecognisable, cant get an appointment at the local doctor or their kids into the local school etc etc. Dont give 2 fucks for a couple of points of GDP.

and it gets better day after day

Brexit: Theresa May to ask EU for further extension
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-47794235

Theresa May will ask the EU for an extension to the Brexit deadline to "break the logjam" in Parliament.

The PM says she wants to meet Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to agree a plan on the future relationship with the EU.

But she insisted her withdrawal agreement - which was voted down last week - would remain part of the deal.

Mrs May said she wanted the extension to be "as short as possible" - before 22 May so the UK does not have to take part in European elections.

The UK has until 12 April to propose a plan - which must be accepted by the EU - or it will leave without a deal.

The UK was supposed to leave the EU on 29 March, but Mrs May agreed a short extension with the bloc after realising Parliament would not agree a deal by the deadline.

...and you think that's the fault of the EU?
It is the fault of the UK government, who closed hospitals and spent less on welfare than the big EU nations, such as Germany and France. The large influx of East Europeans was in disregard to EU advice.

Leaving the EU will lead to the UK being worse off and, worse, leave the government and media with no scapegoat.

Things will not improve with brexit, they will be worse.

All Doris is trying to do with Corbyn is attempting to get him to own her deal with her as she knows the Tories are going to get battered next election and if she can get Corbyn on board Labour will get battered too. Cant believe Corbyn will fall for it though but who knows in these times.

One of her mistakes, maybe the major one, was to not sanction her exit plans with the opposition.
A lesson for English politicians who like previous Thai government rules with a winner takes it all mindset and later complains that the opposition don't want to play boll.
Corbyn should not accept this new invitation done with the elbow.
