she is lying and not taking responsibilities for her failure, she will need to go soon

I think the EU will back down or offer some sort of compromise this time as a clean Brexit which they don't want either is now a reality.

She has promised to put a revised deal to the vote on 13 Feb, which will include a year extra to negotiate an FTA and have no backstop. She'll need to work a bit of magic to do that, or it will just add 2 weeks delay.

I liked this morning's comment suggesting the only thing she'll get from her trip is some extra air miles.

again if you join back the common union, everything is back in play and the backstop is no longer an issue

question: why did stupid Maybot opted out of the common market? dont think she got that from the Brexit mandate, the silly witch

I think she was a hard Brexit supporter hypocrite from day 1, and could explain why she didn't want anyone outside interfere with her vision

The part with the bananas I understood.

But was it not Britain who themselves allowed immediate, unrestricted opening of the borders ?

Other totalitarian regimes like Germany waited 7 years and more before they allowed Poles & Co. to come in.

Those Brits always want to be different

It went so well last time, right? David Cameron can teach you everything about EU negotiations.

The Brits are so full of themselves and arrogant, it's hilarious, and of course they fail at everything

if it wasn't for the EU, GB will be like Zimbabwe now

and of course they will deny their own responsibilities in their own failure, which mean they can never learn from their mistakes, and perpetuate that cycle for ever

nothing personal, Brits are great company, love their sense of humor, and are a lot of fun to be around at the pub

but when it comes to business, politics, and taking decisions for common projects, they are the worst people

The only thing that this utterly bizarre and incomprehensibly stupid turn of events tells us is that the Brexit nutters think by simply refusing to accept May's deal with the backstop they can just wait and get something better ........... even though the EU have told them repeatedly that the deal is the deal........even though May had told them the deal is the deal...... even though the Irish have said the backstop must stay.........even though minutes after the division was counted the EU negotiators told everyone that the deal was not re-negotiable.......even though Guy Vefrfofhumpstedterr had told them that minutes after the vote the EU parliament would vote any renegotiation down......

This stupidity transcends anything witnessed before in the Commons.

    Truly a night to remember.

Frankly, the EU and Ireland should issue a joint communique that in light of the amendments passed last night it is clear that Britain no longer wishes to be a part of the EU in any meaningful capacity and that as of today the EU bloc will be making practical arrangements to erect all necessary barriers between the UK and the EU, including Ireland treating it as a third country. Contemporaneously, and as show of strength and solidarity, the EU should commit to creating a sea-bridge between Ireland and the Continent providing a continuous link facilitating commerce the cost which can be defrayed by a combination of the duties levied on the scum English and their £40 billions in debts outstanding.

Time the EU and Ireland gave it to the cvunts up the arse.

We are leaving and because of the EU's fondness for shafting us in the arse.

Just in case anyone is utterly perplexed by the above comment, due to the fact it doesn't tally with anything that actually happened during the amendment vote:

She will go to try to get something - changes or clarifications. Up to the EU to give or not give. If they give, great. If the EU don't give, May comes back and says the EU refused. After that? ..... No deal Brexit probably.

what I found most surprising with Brexit is the hate and resentment of the Brits against the Germans, more so than they usually do against the French

the EU was fonded by the French and Germans, the English fookers obviously have a problem with that, maybe because their whole WW2 victory sacrifice was all for nothing with France and Germany winning at the end, and the Brits being isolated and cheated of their glory

that's really what it's all about, British National Pride (BNP) for a dying and decadent empire

The hatred vented towards Germany by British nationalists is mostly envy due to the strength of the German economy.

Clearly you have no understanding of the problem. The EU have been patiently waiting for the UK to propose an alternative solution to the problem. The UK have already agreed there is a problem, they haven't denied there is one.

The Tories don't have a solution. They didn't propose one yesterday they simply proposed taking another year, or 3 years transition instead of 2. The problem won't go away with time. It needs a solution proposed and agreed and then find a timeline to complete the solution.

If May had a solution they can work on the EU would probably try and make it workable. However, woolly words like 'alternative arrangements' are reserved for la-la land.

The UK is no closer to an agreed brexit than it was in December. Time for companies to start voting with their feet.

Of course there is a solution it's called a free trade deal, but the EU don't want that without free movement of East Europeans.
