but the host is missing the point of that poor dude,

people might not be able to put words into their problems, but they can feel it, they might not be smart enough to understand what's happening to them, but they can emotionally react to it, and that's exactly the problem here

there is anger in people, and politicians, the PC press, and all the smart people in the room, don't get it, because they use logic to explain the situation and try to ignore the anger and the emotional pain most people live through

this is why nobody could see Brexit coming, and if it's not Brexit, it will be something else next for the British people to express their anger

    He's bang on the money.

The process of recovering from the banking crisis was seemingly never-ending when the BREXIT vote happened. The vote performed exactly the same function as mid-term by-elections have performed since forever. It was an opportunity for a protest vote. An opportunity to focus ire on something, regardless of whether or not it bore any responsibility. It was the electoral equivalent of an immigrant. A chance to kick the dog.

O'Brien has been banging his drum for two years and is a fine stalwart in the defence of Remainers trying to educate the Brexit rabble generally too fucking stupid to tell the difference between their arse and a fucking hole in the ground.

I have consistently said that in addition to the traditional Tory bigots and their geriatric lower middle class racists, and the scum Kipper nazis, the other significant demographic voting for Brexit were the Northern lower end lumpen dross who simply voted to leave in order to fuck up Cameron for the austerity programme which they considered was targeted at them more than southern fuckers.

In truth it was a potent blend of rank stupidity, astounding ignorance and rampant bigoted prejudice that achieved their "victory" but let's hope May is defeated on Tuesday and we have the hard Brexit they have sought for so long. The misery and gnashing of teeth by the English and Welsh lower end will be delicious as they stumble upon the realisation they are well and truly fucked.

Just like your prediction about parity with the US $, the truth about hard Brexit and the WTO will come crashing down around your ears.
You conveniently forget that, for both sides, and a total of 28 coutries, pragmatism and dealing with reality will take precedent over your desire for catastrophe, just to prove your point. People will still carry on living outside their birth country, owning homes, earning money and living a normal life. Even the insufferably intransigent EU council and commission realise that. May, or her successor will have to make things work to bring economic reality back to the front of politics.
I agree tha the current government is singularly I’ll equipped to deal with the fall out, but even the electorate that you despise, is not stupid enough to choose a Labour government.

The bottom line is, life will go on, minus your bile and invective. It should at least shut your repetitive spittle fueled rants down. For that smallest of mercies, everyone will be grateful.

Not so fast SA, the outcome of this Brexit debacle is not quite that straightforward. Let's hope the current forecast is reasonable and the defeat is by well over 100 votes. That will show Brexit and her negotiations to be the shambles we know they are. It's too close to Christmas for anything to be re-negotiated in 3 weeks so, unless she already has a Plan B, the government attempt at Brexit will be a failure and the best option will be to simply stay in. If this option can only be made viable by a second referendum then so be it.

A hard Brexit will be defenestrated on Tuesday...

Chas, you are a fucking idiot but what is even worse is that you haven't the imagination of a fucking demented, geriatric gerbil to conceive of circumstances outside your own miserably confined purlieu.

The reality is that a disorderly Brexit, and it seems that is now inevitable as indeed is the ever increasing political crisis the like of which the British have not seen in peacetime. has immediate consequences which will diminish the value of Sterling to a degree that it will significantly alter people's lives for the next generation.

The £ will fall to 34 baht and less than a euro hitting near parity with what has become a rising $.

Many farang here without wives on retirement pensions will no longer qualify for their extensions, particularly when it is becoming increasing apparent that the rules for such are themselves hardening. Many farang will have to return to the UK but if they wanted to take their partners then they will find out that they will not even qualify for sponsorship under draconian British immigration rules.

The inflation rate in Britain will hit 5% within a year. This will be aseismic shock o the economy not least because the current wage levels are not capable of sustaining the concomitant price increases in practically everything to be consumed.

Trade affecting over a million SMEs currently dependent upon EU customers will cease. Road haulier transport between the UK and the continent will cease. The goods carried by 3 million lorries annually through Dover alone will no longer be transported.

These are the realities of post brexit you idiot and who do you think will suffer most?

Yep everyone will just muddle through and it'll alb fine because we are British.

You guys are just so fucking stupid but the real kicker is the stupid idea among the lower class that nothing will change in regards to the travel to Spain etc. The sheer number of English imbeciles that still think why will be able to stay in their cheap apartments for 5 months over winter is really quote depressing. May and the Paki have both said that post Brexit all new EU arrivals will be treated like coons from Bongoland This of course will be reciprocated. Visitors to Schengen land will be permitted to a visit of no longer than 90 days in any 6 month period. And that is that and no will give a fuck if you bought a fucking palace, it's 90 days in every 6 months.

Life will not carry on as before, post Brexit life will be considerably poorer for most, it will have less opportunity, there will be more unemployment as businesses are throttled, it will be considerably more expensive, taxes will rise, and property prices will collapse but so will credit availability. Still, it does mean Ireland will be unified and Scotland will gain independence so at least it will the English and Welsh to suffer in isolation.

The future, Chas, eat it up.

Re-negotiated?? The EU have jointly made it clear that the deal is the deal - take it or fuck it. The consequences are entirely up to Britain: a second referendum, a General Election, May and the Tories simply remain and prepare for a hard WTO Brexit, the Tories kill May and elect a new buffoon to prepare for a hard Brexit or, a totally outside chance, Parliament regains its legitimacy and votes on a motion to kill the abortion that is Brexit and dispense with the democratic wishes of 17.5 million fuckwits.

The only sane option is of course the final one but that is mere wishful thinking, leaving the next pragmatic option to be accepting the deal and spend the next 10 years negotiating sensibly.

^ Democracy does allow for people to change their minds, especially when they realise the consequences....

...if it didn't then there would be no point having General Elections.

My money has always been on a sensible outcome and that has only one answer.

Actually, listening to "Timothy" was quite hilarious - the typical Brexit voter: incoherent, addled, illogical, stupid, ignorant but above all, he just hates foreigners whose presence he believes prevents him from realising his potential, for fuck knows what is not made clear but one suspects it is merely a decent shag. Classic xenophobe and of course the bedrock of the entire Brexit movement.

Of course your catastrophic scenario is entirely possible, but let’s face it, that catastrophe serves neither side very well at all.
In the real world, decisions will be taken that make sense and do not defy logic. Of course there will be reciprocal agreements on citizenship, transport, finance and security. To do otherwise would serve neither side. The EU is not as spiteful as you seem to think. They need those foreigners spending money in their economy. Logistic traffic by land sea and air is an essential part of life for both sides.
You are guilty of taking this Armageddon too personally. You can’t return to Europe with your wingman, and your inflation proof pension will only diminish by the amount you need to survive in the land of smirks.
The value of the pound will certainly fall, initially. That’s how finance brokers make their living. To clean up, they also need it to be based on reality, so it will return to its true value fairly soon.

The world abhors a vacuum and also dislike uncertainty. You are a pessimist with an agenda. Time to STFU.

I could t disagree more. Staying in is certainly not the best option. How does anyone explain to the voters that they can’t have what they voted for. Mays option is doomed to failure for the same reason, plus a lack of party consensus would never allow it. The same applies to a second referendum.

An election would produce more stalemate with no overall majority for one party. Worse than the enfeebled government we have now. In all of this, the last two years have been wasted. The only chance for this to have the desired effect, is to go hard, no deal Brexit, and force both sides to negotiate properly, adopting common sense as the default decision making process. The only stumbling block here, is self interest. Sack both teams and start again with no hidden agenda.

I love it Chas when the ill-educated and half-witted talk in vapid cliche and hackneyed terms. So, in economic terms, how does one quantify, or even define, "true" value?

I read things as they are and have been right all along. The £ has devalued markedly from its pre-Brexit value of 54 baht to the current price of 41 baht, and $1.55 to 1.27. Inflation has risen from 0% to 3 %. Capital outflows have exceeded inflows, and growth has shrunk to less than 1% when all others elsewhere have increased by 2.5% or more. Employment in permanent full time work has decreased to be replaced by zero hour contract work, spurious self-employment in order to qualify for working tax credits and the proliferation of bogus training/apprentice/job creation positions. The property market is paralysed with zero growth and retail/commercial leases have collapsed in numbers and value. And all this has happened before we actually leave the EU.

    You are an arse, Chas.

You stupid fuck, the Irish and EU have been ably represented by men of honour negotiating on the strength of their convictions based on the support of the 27 member states defending their four freedoms which are core to the entire EU constitution. The British however in contrast have not negotiated on any known principles other than incoherence, stupid rhetoric and vacuous propaganda.

You are truly one dumb mofo.

Worst case scenario is a no deal hard Brexit, where most agree the £ sinks another 10-15% over 3-5 years. But as Troy said this will not happen. Argue away, slag off the world and it affects nothing beyond your own ego, because no deal is not in the deck.

As it stands with my understanding of her deal, unless May bends over for Corbyn in return for support she will be defeated and from next week we might see the ground being laid to remain via Ref2; a victory for both the EU and our glorious leader. They 'accepted' her deal in less than 40 minutes, a clue that we've been shafted, and far from what Brexiteers expected before voting.

In this case fcuk the women and children, I would rather stay in to pump the £ long enough to bail out before the Union goes tits up, the main issue, far more inspiring than Brexit, and which the noisiest prefer to ignore.

All joking aside the level of delusion and general stupidity shown by Brexiteers in this thread is scary.

You have to pass a test to drive a car so there should be a similar aptitude test before being allowed to vote or even post on the internet come to that.
