Actually that's a very good point and not one I've really thought about before.

That being said I don't think it would be to much of an issue because the NZ government is already committed to redress and reparations so it would probably continue on as before.

    Just a guess mind.

Poor orange cunto, he just can't catch a break.

The Senate Banking Committee rejected President Donald Trump's nominee to lead the Export-Import Bank on Tuesday after a pair of Republicans joined with the panel's Democrats in voting down former congressman Scott Garrett.
The committee voted 10-13 against the former GOP congressman, who had pushed to shut down the bank.
Republican Sens. Tim Scott of South Carolina and Mike Rounds of South Dakota voted against advancing Garrett's nomination.

There have been several statements on that from both Trump and his surrogates and allies saying he isn't and won't consider firing Mueller.

So yeah, probably within the next months

I bet it's sooner. Trump is believing the Fox news about him which has formed a positive opinion feedback loop in his wee brain, so he's not worried about firing Mueller as Fox News says "people" support the move.

The Quinnipiac poll has an interesting sample. They sample mostly from the mid-Atlantic states, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, and Colorado. Not much love for the Left Coast.

So I see Trump's predictably touting the passing of the tax bill as the biggliest thing ever: "We are making America great again".

    And this is how:

    - cut in the corporate rate, from 35 percent to 21 percent;
    - people who make less than $25,000 will see an average tax cut of $60;
    - those who earn between $49,000 and $86,000 will get about $900;
    - and those in the top 1 percent will receive around $51,000 in tax savings.

All of which will come at a price of an estimated $1.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade, which Republicans will now undoubtedly try to claw-back by making cuts to things like Social Security and Medicare and justifying it by the mess that they made.

Congrats turkeys, you got the Xmas that you voted for! MAGA! Covfefe motherfuckers!

I'm trying to remember the name of that dude who owns a whole bunch of LLCs and is a real estate developer, escapes me now, fat guy... orange...

A few more winners with their snouts in the trough...

When Texas Sen. John Cornyn slipped an obscure tax break for pipeline giants into the GOP tax bill, he wasn't just helping major Republican Party donors, he was also potentially helping 16 of his congressional colleagues. Together those 16 lawmakers — 13 Republicans, three Democrats — own multimillion-dollar stakes in the special investment vehicles that stand to benefit from Cornyn’s amendment. They include three of members of the Texas Congressional delegation: Sen. Ted Cruz and two top Republicans in the U.S. House.
Cornyn’s amendment, which was introduced just hours before the Senate passed the tax bill on Dec. 2, provides a tax deduction for investors in energy-related master limited partnerships(MLPs) — investment entities primarily used by oil and gas pipeline corporations.
Federal lawmakers collectively own between $4.6 million and $10.6 million worth of energy-related MLPs, according to personal financial disclosures reviewed by International Business Times. Thirteen of the 16 lawmakers who own stakes in energy-related MLPs are Republicans. All 13 of those lawmakers voted for the tax bill in their respective chambers.
The filings detail lawmakers’ ownership stakes through 2016 and provide dollar ranges, not specific figures, for the value of the legislators' assets.

...another fine example of the kind of folks tRump appoints to represent America 55555:

Trump’s ambassador to the Netherlands just got caught lying about the Dutch

By Amanda Erickson December 22 at 2:16 PM

    Sunny Hundal@sunny_hundal

    Just perfect.
Dutch journalist to new US Ambassador: you said there were 'no go zones' in Netherlands, where are they?
Ambassador: That's fake news, I didn't say that
Journalist: We can show you that clip now.
    Ambassador: Err

A Dutch journalist just asked new U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra why he said there are “no go” areas in the Netherlands, where radical Muslims are setting cars and politicians on fire.
Hoekstra denied it, and called the claim “fake news.”
The report cut to a video clip of Hoekstra at a 2015 conference hosted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center saying: “The Islamic movement has now gotten to a point where they have put Europe into chaos. Chaos in the Netherlands, there are cars being burned, there are politicians that are being burned.”
“And yes, there are no-go zones in the Netherlands,” he added in the clip.

    Then things got extremely weird.

When the reporter pressed, Hoekstra denied using the term “fake news,” which he'd uttered moments before.

“I didn’t call that fake news,” he said. “I didn’t use the words today. I don’t think I did.”
Hoekstra was being interviewed by reporter Wouter Zwart for current affairs program Nieuwsuur. The interview is not playing well in the Netherlands. (One sample headline: “The new Trump Ambassador to the Netherlands, Pete Hoekstra, lies about his own lies.")

But the former congressman was always going to be a tough sell for one of Europe's most liberal countries.

Though Hoekstra was born in the Netherlands, his family emigrated to Michigan when we was a toddler. He served as a Republican congressman for a decade and a half, eventually chairing the House Intelligence Committee.
In that time, he adopted several positions that are at odds with core Dutch values. Hoekstra is opposed to same-sex marriage and gay rights. In Congress, he voted repeatedly to limit women's rights to abortion. He supports the death penalty and has argued passionately that refugees are a threat to European security.
Hoekstra has given several talks at the anti-Islam American Freedom Alliance, which has also hosted Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders. In 2015, Hoekstra blamed a “secret jihad” for the “chaos” in the Netherlands.

After Trump announced Hoekstra's appointment, Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant observed that Trump “put a Dutchman in the Netherlands — but it is a Dutchman from the Netherlands of the ’50s.”
Of the appointment, liberal politician Sophie in ’t Veld said: “We are looking forward with interest to cooperating with Mr. Hoekstra. We will certainly remind him his roots lie in a country that values tolerance, equality and inclusion. … We expect the representative of our friend and ally the United States to fully and wholly respect our values and to show that respect in all his acts and words.”

TRUMP ... doing his best for World Peace

The Trump administration has approved a plan to provide lethal weapons to Ukraine, including anti-tank missiles, US officials say,
as Kiev battles Russian-backed separatists in the eastern part of the country.

    Key points:
    • State Department says sending weapons is to "deter further aggression"
    • More than 10,000 people killed during conflict since 2014
    • US has already provided support equipment and training

The new arms include the American-made Javelin anti-tank missiles that Ukraine has long sought to boost its defences against tanks that have
rolled through eastern Ukraine during violence that has killed more than 10,000 people since 2014.

The officials describing the plan were not authorised to discuss it publicly and demanded anonymity.

It's just staggering to me that this administration is acceptable to anyone on any level.
The rubes won't wake up untill they start feeling the pinch but by then it may well be too late for the U.S.

People accept it as they're getting richer, stock markets keep hitting record highs and with his tax bill US companies are likely to repatriate a load of wonga some of which will no doubt be used to pay out to shareholders in dividends. Obviously the poor will continue to suffer but they suffer whoever is in charge and are just an inconvenience.

That would be anyone invested in the stock market, anyone who has a pension as they invest their funds in the markets, so a large majority of people will be better off since The Don assumed the throne.

Who are all these people who are worse off then dufus? You've already admitted you will be better off so that's the lower end trailer trash taken care of, the rich will obviously be better off. So who is going to be worse off then and provide some figures to show how much more they will be paying. Obviously I won't hold my breath as we both know you are an obese waste of space who just swallows anti Trump propaganda in the same way you swallow sperm.

80% will get some sort of tax cut.

Those who will be worse off are some of the wealthy in states like ny and California who won't be able to write off as much of the high state taxes they pay.
