^More likely shooting the ex-wife.
Appears I'm wrong - had an axe to grind with the paper.....
Apparently the gunman had a long history of animosity toward that particular paper and had sued them repeatedly.
Hard to say in there's a connection although it wouldn't exactly be a giant leap to suggest that he might have been emboldened by seeing Trump's own attacks on the media.
Pure coincidence but that fuckwit arsehole hypocrite Ted Nugent was on the Rogan podcast bleating about gun control as this went down.
Not a giant leap at all. Just a little bit of a nudge may have been all that was needed and Trump's words were a big nudge to crazy gun-toting rednecks.
Plus Milo Yannapoulos's comment on Twitter 2 days ago;
“I can’t wait for the vigilante squads to start gunning journalists down on sight."
Naah, it's just another fucked up, retarded, gormless Septic gone crazy with a gun. Honestly, the utter mundanity of it all is just so drearily tedious.
Mind you, he has that Seppo look ripped straight out of the NerdishfuckwitzR'Us album of 1973.
This puts trump n a bind....someone shoots up a news outlet and he's gotta chooses between condemning it or thanking the guy......sad
It seems the paper did a story back in the day about him stalking some bird online for a year. Sounds like he's never got over it.
US police say 92-year-old woman shot her son over care home plans
A 92-year-old woman in the US has shot and killed her son, allegedly because he wanted to put her into a care home.
Key points:
- Anna Mae Blessing was arrested on suspicion of murdering her 72-year-old son
- She said her son wanted to put her in a care home as she was difficult to live with
- Police said they had visited the home before after an argument between the pair
Arizona police said Anna Mae Blessing was arrested on suspicion of murdering the 72-year-old man, and was being held
in lieu of $500,000 (AU$677,000) bail, court officials said.
Ms Blessing told detectives following her arrest that she had confronted her son over his intentions to put her in the
care facility because, he had said, she was difficult to live with.
prison will probably be a better place to live than the care facility.
wild wild west.....

Possibly a little out of the ordinary.
30 people were shot in just 3 hours in Chicago, including at least 12 teenagersThirty people were shot in just 3 hours early Sunday in Chicago, with five mass shootings of three or more victims accounting for 25 of the casualties, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Two people were killed and 28 were wounded between midnight and 3 a.m., including at least 12 teenagers, one of whom was shot in the head and killed, the Sun-Times reported.
The shooting with the most victims left eight people wounded in a South Side neighbourhood after a group of men walked up to the eight people standing in a courtyard and opened fire, the Sun-Times reported.
Four of the victims were teenage girls. They're all expected to survive.
Fewer than two hours later, six more people were shot, including five teenagers, when two men walked up to a group of people on a footpath in a Southwest Side neighbourhood and started shooting, the Sun-Times reported.
A 17-year-old girl was shot in the face and killed, and four more teenagers, with ages ranging from 11 to 17, were wounded, the Sun-Times reported.
Four more people were shot in a separate shooting at a block party in the same neighbourhood of Lawndale just a few hours earlier, the Sun-Times reported. Three of the victims were teenagers, with the youngest being just 13 years old.
Dozens of people were seen grieving and crying on Sunday morning outside of Stroger Hospital, one of Chicago's busiest trauma centres, the Sun-Times later reported.
"This is the worst I've ever seen it," one officer outside Stroger told the Sun-Times. "It's hot right now. There's a lot of tension ... And it might get worse because you can hear people talking about revenge, saying on their cell phones 'I know know who did it. You get him.'
Altogether, between Saturday and Sunday morning, 37 people were shot, three of them fatally, according to the Chicago Tribune. Sixteen of the victims were teenagers, 12 of whom were 17 or younger.
Thus far in 2018, there have been about 339 homicides in Chicago, 285 of whom were killed by gun violence.
In 2016, 780 people were killed in Chicago, the highest number of homicides in the city in nearly 20 years. But the homicide rate has been on a steady downward trend since then, with 682 killed in 2017 and a pace of even fewer in 2018.

not a gang problem.....a not enough good guys with guns problem.....happens alot in the US these days
...I wonder if good guys with guns ever say "Oops, thought you were a bad guy"...
Largely a problem of a failed 'War on Drugs'. Where a militarized drug task force spawned heavily armed drug dealers.
Portugal largely solve their problem 15 years ago with decriminalization, and treating drug addiction as a health issue.
It ain't a gun problem, the firearms and murders are a symptom of a much bigger problem.
