Six Russian airlines continue flights abroad, 29 carriers fly to country, says ministry

Airlines use aircraft, which has no risk of being detained abroad, including 147 Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, for international flights

    17 Mar, 14:50

"MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Six Russian airlines continue performing international flights, and 29 air carriers fly to the country, the Transport Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

"Despite the restrictions imposed by a number of foreign countries on using their airspace, Russian airlines continue performing international flights. Six Russian air carriers perform flights to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan with the total frequency of around 250 flights per week," according to the statement.

Airlines use aircraft, which has no risk of being detained abroad, including 147 Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, for international flights, the ministry explained.

"Moreover, 29 airlines from Algeria, Armenia, Bahrein, Belarus, Venezuela, Israel, India, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Mongolia, the UAE, Serbia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan fly to Russia as of today," the statement said."

Presumably from many of the named airports one can transit to other destinations.

US, Ukraine hide data from United Nations about joint biological research activities

Igor Kirillov also recalled "historic facts, when such US irresponsible behavior beyond its national jurisdiction only led to formal excuses on behalf of the US Administration"

    17 Mar, 21:34

"MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. The United States and Ukraine have been intentionally hiding information in international reports about their cooperation in the sphere of a biological research, Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov said on Thursday.

Kirillov reiterated that in line with the UN Biological Weapons Convention (UNODA) all participating member states must submit information with the United Nations about employed facilities and implied activities in this sphere.

"We are speaking here about the measures of trust that are inked with the aim of controlling the Convention’s implementation," he said.

"Beginning in 2016, when our previously-mentioned projects entered their stage of implementation, the United States and Ukraine were intentionally hushing them up in international reports, despite their obvious military-biological orientation."

"Such concealment is another reason to think about Pentagon’s original aims regarding the territory of Ukraine," Kirillov added.

The military official also recalled "historic facts, when such US irresponsible behavior beyond its national jurisdiction only led to formal excuses on behalf of the US Administration."

"Back in October 2010, then-US President Barack Obama officially acknowledged the fact of subjecting citizens of Guatemala to illegal testing and they were intentionally infected with syphilis and gonorrhea agents, and it was done with an approval from the White House," Kirillov said.

Last week, Kirillov announced that a network of over 30 biological labs was uncovered in Ukraine and they had been allegedly operated under control of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the US Department of Defense.

Washington remains that all statements about the operation of US-run bio-laboratories in Ukraine are propaganda and disinformation."

So Vlad is looking at living out his remaining years in Russia (unless he fancies North Korea or thinks Russia will continue to prop up Assad after he goes), hoping the country doesn't become a truly democratic state that not only wants its money returned but is happy to give up the tyrant as well.

EU condemns 'war crimes' committed by Russia

The European Union has condemned "serious violations and war crimes" committed by Russia in Ukraine.
"The European Union condemns in the strongest possible terms the Russian Armed Forces and their proxies' continued targeting of Ukraine's civilian population and civilian infrastructure, as well as their siege of the city of Mariupol," EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said in a statement.
Ukraine has accused Russia of bombing a theater in the eastern city of Mariupol where hundreds were taking shelter. Mariupol's city hall says some 80% of residential housing in the city has been destroyed. It said it was "clarifying information on victims" of the theater shelling.
"Such deliberate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are shameful, reprehensible and totally unacceptable. They constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law," Borrell said.
"The perpetrators of these serious violations and war crimes, as well as the responsible government officials and military leaders will be held accountable," he said.

....and now for some REAL news

Many of those planes will be grounded in the coming months after Western nations banned the export of aviation technology, including spare parts, to Russia following its invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
Russia’s airlines will be forced to cannibalize their existing fleets for spare parts, analysts said.

Even the SSJ-100 could be grounded, as most of its components are foreign made, including the engine.

Rogue nations like Russia, led by paranoid deluded Putin can make sure that people back home believe what he tells them.

He might call it a ‘special operation’ but the world has witnessed an illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, Ukraine, by an unhinged bully. Putins war was not approved or sanctioned by the United Nations. I said at the very beginning, that Putin and those who supported and enabled this horror show, should face trial as war criminals.

They have no authority for this incursion into another country. A war that should have lasted no more than a week is now over 3 weeks old, because Putin seriously misjudged the opposition, and the strength or weakness of his own forces.

Not only should the leadership stand trial as war criminals, but Russia should be obliged to pay reparations for Putins act of madness. Ukrainian deaths cannot be excused by this pointless incursion, but the physical damage can be made good by those responsible.

Instead, Putin is trying to save face by suing for peace. An immediate ceasefire is a great idea, but do not allow this nasty dictator to lay down the terms for it. All Russian troops and military materiel should be repatriated to Russia immediately. Most of them, and their families believe that this is a military exercise, because that is what suppression of the truth has told them. The disinformation at home has provided Putin with tacit support from his own people, who have been shielded from the truth by blatant propaganda.

Putins war should end now with an international arbitration team established to determine if there was ever any justification for invasion, other than the fabrication in Putin’s twisted sick brain. If he was correct, then he has nothing to fear from being tried as a war criminal.
He cannot buy or bully an independent tribunal like he did with his own government and his own people. The Russian people deserve better, they deserve the real truth, and not Putin’s version of it.

In political jargon, a useful idiot is a derogatory term for a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending the cause's goals, and who is cynically used by the cause's leaders. The term was originally used during the Cold War to describe non-communists regarded as susceptible to communist propaganda and manipulation. The term has often been attributed to Vladimir Lenin, but this attribution has not been substantiated.

Tells you all you need to know about Puffy Putin's jingoism.

Before Mr Putin spoke, Russia's stirring national anthem, with the words "Russia is our sacred state" boomed out across the stands of the stadium used in the 2018 Soccer World Cup along with more modern pop hits such as Made in the USSR.
