Mumbling perhaps indicates that the pilot was semi-conscious, after perhaps inhaled fumes from a fire.

What's your point?
Yes, but the probability is that he would not be answering in that case. (With the emphasis on "probability".
Do you honestly expect a bunch of Asian layabouts in uniform to sit and watch every radar screen throughout a night shift?
My guess was all the lazy bastards had their heads down, which is why they didn't even know it was ever near Phuket until they rewound the tapes.
MAS were told it was missing around an hour after the fact.
But why would anyone expect a (most likely commandeered) aircraft to fly out to the middle of nowhere and certain doom?
So they focused all their search on or near the flight path until they got confirmation of where it actually went.
What they are covering up is their militarys complete ineptitude.
Bollix.
The MH370 pilot was still able to use RF in contact, although garbled and static ridden, with another airliner, after losing touch with air traffic control, so MH370 was not radio invisible.
Also, the systems that were shut off were satellite communications, the transponder, and two automatic reporting systems, ACARS and ADS-B.
But the SATCOM was turned off also, yet turned back on again later so MH370 continued sending hourly handshakes to INMARSAT.
To do that, and to switch it on, the pilot would have had to go down to the avionics bay and take out a connector, something he's not trained to do as part of his job.
Both those actions resulted in a power outage, as claimed by INMARSAT, and the second change of the SATCOM switch triggered the hourly handshakes.
If the pilot's aim was to maintain radio silence, then he failed, firstly by answering the incoming call, and secondly by switching the SATCOM back on.
So why did the pilot or someone switch the SATCOM back on?

In other words, you've no argument nor point to make by misquoting me out of context. Grow up.
Who said it was turned off?
The handshakes were received hourly, with a delayed partial handshake being the last attempt at communication.
This fits with the plane running out of fuel and the RAT deploying before it finally went down.
No-one had to go down into an avionics bay for any of this, you muppet.
Been reading one of your fairy story websites again?
Meaning?
Or RU just trolling?
No, they said it powered off then momentarily powered on again and completed a partial handshake, if you are talking about the terminal that provided the pings.
A SatNav is something in a car.
SatCom is either a generic term for Satellite communications or a service provider.

Families of those on board the missing flight MH370 have been told to prepare for a move by Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and the authorities to collect DNA samples, similar to the exercise done during the MH17 tragedy.
Syafinaz Hasnan, the sister of flight attendant Mohd Hazrin Hasnan, who was among the 12 crew members on board the ill-fated flight that went missing on March 8, said this was announced during the two-hour briefing session held at the MAS Academy in Kelana Jaya last night.
“They said we now need to provide our DNA samples to the authorities for safekeeping and in case they found the wreckage or remains.
"This is the first time they have made an official announcement on DNA samples. Prior to this, we only heard stories that they had taken samples from a few family members,” said Syafinaz. As no specific dates were mentioned on when the exercise would commence, she asked how MAS planned to execute it.
“We were told that we can give ours tonight (last night) but we don't see any medical team around.
"I wonder how they are going to do this. Do they expect us to get a cotton bud and start swiping our mouth for saliva and handed it over to them?” asked Syafinaz.
During the MH17 tragedy, it was reported that 16 task groups, comprising of officials from the Health Ministry and police, were involved in the process of obtaining swabs from family members at the Marriot Hotel Putrajaya.
DNA sampling involving heirs from other states who could not make it to Putrajaya were managed by the ministry and police in their respective state.

That's going to be immensely useful if someone lost their husband or wife (unless they are from Stoke).
Or anonymous.
Malaysians too ‘stupid’ to run airline, former PM Mahathir Mohamad says Dec 6, 2014
former premier Mahathir Mohamad has reportedly said following news that a German is set to head the country's troubled national carrier from next year.
Government-owned wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Berhad announced Christoph R Mueller as the chief executive officer-designate of a revamped Malaysia Airlines (MAS New Co) in a bid to turn around the embattled airline.
"Malaysians are stupid. They don't know how to manage aviation," the former prime minister was quoted saying by news portal Malaysiakini, Malay Mail Online said on Saturday.
"And now those responsible for the losses try to make things right," he reportedly added in what appears to be a dig at Khazanah, which holds close to 70 per cent shares in MAS.
