I wasn,t born in Northern Ireland, but My Father was back in 1918. Therefore because My Dad is from Ireland I exercised My right to an Irish passport.
Handy is Irish decendancy.

you America retard, it's the same people, with the same history and past. It's a fucking island, and they can choose their nationality and still reside where they were born. They all refer themselves to Irish. The division is political, from their independence war, and along the line of Religious beliefs.
God, you are fucking ignorant, no wonder you are a supporter of Israel. You are fucking blind.
Very confusing situation. The Republic is called Eire (Most people call it Ireland) Six counties (part of the province of Ulster) where carved out under threat that the Protestant citizenry under Carson, threatened to fight the British if they were made to be part of a Catholic dominated Irish country.Originally Posted by Fluke
Most of the Northern Protestants transplanted themselves from Scotland after Cromwell defeated the Irish Tribes. Yip that far back. While most indigenous Irish in Northern Ireland ( Cathlics by religion) hold dual nationality, most Protestant Northern Irish hold only British Citizenship, by choice.
Most consider themselves Irish. So incredibly Butters is on one point is almost correct. Those hard liners who perhaps belong to the Orange Order etc would always refer to themselves as British never Irish. Butters, how the border was drawn was purely politically motivated. Three of the six Northern Irish Counties are overwhelmingly indigenous irish areas (Catholic)
I am encouraged that Butters finds you arrogant and blind as I was starting to believe I was the only one he found threatening. From a Professional standpoint I am very familiar with his personality type. Very typicaly his ranting could stem from a deep seated sense of inferiority. A troubled lack of clear understanding of who he is, hence his grasp on reality is tenuous and often errant thought patterns are common.
I was born in Belfast and I have an Irish Passport. And i consider myself Irish.
god what an arrogant retard you make, I thought all you did in life was sailing and being lost in your thoughts at sea.Originally Posted by Sailing into trouble

Jeez, I even know stuupid americans who have Irish passports because Grand daddy O'Reilly sailed into New York in 1903, what my hate about that is that they have no family, like i have, in Ireland whether it is North or South. That they can call family.
I am talking about uncles and aunts and cousins, of which some i saw in December for the wedding of my nephew in Scotland. Not the hunky dory photos of your typical American tourist (with baseball cap) photo with some long lost cousin in Killarney who doesn't know what's hit him.
My parents brought me up as Irish, even though i had a British passport until i found out i could get an Irish one. My parents and their parents were not bigoted about religion and were proud to be Irish, and so am i.
So Boo Hoo Betty Boo. I suppose it's off for next weekend then....!!!
Shall we start singing the Sash, Flower of Scotland or Paddy McGinty's Goat
^please don't!
OK, I've changed my mind. Can you bring the riding crop with you, please...Originally Posted by patsycat
The original settlers who moved over the Irish sea from Scotland to what is now known as Northern Ireland now, they where Scottish Protestants.
They brought civilization to the savage Island, and created industries that created wealth.
They prospered until the Catholics started taking their jobs through protests, thats when the country fell backwards into the medieval Irish way.
They were not colonialists then, they were Scotish prodsl who still live there. Most of my family. All farming folk and good people.
Yes, boo, cat o nine lives with little metal bits on.
Rest assured that we genuine Irish consider you a brit.Originally Posted by patsycat

Where were you born, probably some bog down there on the left.
Just because i was born in Belfast, does not make me a brit, I have the proof that my parents, and grandparents and all the poor old souls before them were born in Ireland. Which makes me Irish.
Dont get at me. I know my roots and am very proud of them.
This has nothing to do with religion. In fact, you dont know my religion if i even have one.

You were born in Belfast. That's in the UK. You're a brit. You don't know what a planter is. You're a brit. If you don't know why those things mean you're a brit. Head to any pub south of Newry and you'll have no problem finding somebody to explain it to you.
Dublin. That's in Ireland. I believe we share a border with you British.Originally Posted by patsycat

That was below the belt! lol Obviously DOC you do not hail from The West, North or S west of Eire. South Dublin perhaps .Originally Posted by DrB0b
I tell you what Doc, spent many a happy, (albeit nervous time in pubs in Newry as a youth and in Carlingford). I would love to sit, at a safe distance, and listen to you express that point of view!
