just read that China is to build a new canal across Nicaragua to compete with the Panama.
I remember there was some talk a few years back and would not be surprised if they are rethinking about Thailand also..big impact on Singapore?

They could put it just above the southern border provinces to further segregate any separatist violence from spreading.

The old "canal across" come up every now and again until someone gets paid off then t disappears until next time?
As for Nicaraguan Canal? USA has a 99 year lease from early 1900's so I suppose that will be up soon. They should have done something about it?Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
