The Japs own huge parts of it and many businesses Jap owned cater exclusively to the Jap tourist market.
They shop at Jap owned shops, stop in Jap owned hotels and eat in Jap owned restaurants with the profits flowing straight back to Jap land.
The Australian Government needs a good hard foking for letting this situation arise.
As far as Thailand goes, I say good on them for keeping the land out of the hands of foreigners.
