Baldick and myself agree on sweet fuk all and always have done so but for this one time I must say I agree with him.
Faggots think putting a ring on it will change their lives.
Fok off, they will crash and burn same as straight people.
Putting a ring on it panders to humans basic fear of being alone and need to own someone.
It don't really mean fook all when things go South.
End of the day only benefits to being married are some tax benefits and inheritance laws, next of kin status and maybe also immigration status as in easier to obtain visas. Scrap inheritance tax which is the most vile of all taxes and allow people to nominate their next of kin regardless if related or not and i'm sure the incentive for marriage would disappear for many.
^ ^^
When it comes to Marriage the issues are the same regardless of the sexs.
And this is why i say let the Gays get married.
Makes zero difference.
I worked with Gays in my line of work particularly lesbians.
Their relationship issues where exactly the same as the all the Straight fukers I worked with.
No difference at all.
One of the girls used to bring her smoking hot Uni student girl friend in and play pool on Saturday.
Hot as fuk she was and us pervy coonts used to put on our best front.
We where all devastated when they split up. 55555

Yer well,
The Uni Girl was smokin Hot but the bint she was Shagging which happened to be our Station Officer was not.
Most butch lesbians that join the Fire Service are just that.
Personally i'd rather they change tax/inheritance, next of kin laws etc. rather than marriage laws as people straight or gay who choose not to get married for whatever reason are still getting penalised for deciding not to get the piece of paper.
I think that may be one of the most overlooked issues in this debate; People are people and fall in love. Why allow some people to solemnise that love regardless of the pitfalls that may lay ahead, and deny other people that same expression of devotion and commitment, potential pitfalls and all.
Well, I hope the Pizza debate has been devoured and Maanaam has bought the focus back.
I've mentioned it before, but one of my pet hates is when a CEO stands and proudly sprouts
I know I speak for the majority of our membership/customers/employees when the CEO
affirms that broad support for SSM and throws the corporate resources behind the belief.
Nothing more prevalent then this week when the AFL (Australian football League) came out
and publicity supported the SSM YES vote.
They even went to the expense of changing the Logo at corporate headquarters ...
... only to be removed 24 hours later when Management realised that NO, THEY DON'T SPEAK FOR THEIR MEMBERSHIP.
FFS ...
- AFL ... run the Football League
- QANTAS ... fly the Planes safely, reliably and at the lowest cost
- WOOLIES ... be a place where I just do my Shopping
Some might say 'overwhelming support' ... others, like me say, get back to doing your jobs and no ... having your Corporate Support
is more likely a function of the
- 'me too' syndrome,
- 'fear of missing out' syndrome or
- Brand Positioning within their Market demographic
Agree with all of those, especially Brand positioning. Interesting how folk can be swayed by such subliminal marketing.
Id like to think that the AFL is no different than any other sport. Simply conscious of the fact that some footy players and others involved in the sport might actually be gay. It takes a massive act of willpower for anyone involved in such an aggressive and male dominated sport to come out.
The corporate voices do need to help allay some of the fears individuals may have about the subject, but I suspect it’s all just a marketing exercise for Australia’s hot topic of the moment.
The best Rugby Union refereeing the world has a very interesting personal story to tell. (Nigel Owens).
since homophobic discrimination has percolated through all segments of society, it's reaffirming to see those same segments now proclaiming to be in favor of...less discrimination and a more inclusive social structure...put-upon straights will have to adjust as social progress overtakes parochial hate. Stepping on the enthusiasm for change says more about the stepper than the steppee...thus endeth the lesson...

Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
Why does a corporate entity/sporting body/company need gay members to support equality? Why can't a CEO simply feel that equality is a thing that needs backing?
Does Qantas, the AFL, Woolworths, MacDonalds, or any corporate body need to have women employees with breast cancer before they can support Pink Ribbon Day, or is it just something they can feel is right?
^^^ goes for David's comments, too.

Seriously?
The issue is no where near as big as you seem to think it is, even on a personal level.
Its only a few decades ago that homosexuality was illegal in supposedly forward thinking western democracies. Allow change to happen naturally. Trying to force your own perspective is futile. Dinosaurs will be left behind eventually. No need to rub it in.
yep...
disagree, particularly on a personal level...
one man's natural is another's glacial...
force? no. Persuade others that ignorance and fear can be overcome? yes.
I admire your patience...
a little schadenfreude with cocktails can be very satisfying...

Ya need to chill out a tad mate, this stuff has got ya spending way to much time sweating the small stuff.
Grab ya mate and go out and enjoy the day.
Plenty of other shifters do just that without getting balls deep into shit that just aint that important.
They save that for the bedroom.
