In the ongoing war on Christian Values and the sanctity of marriage of one man/one woman, we see how corrupt some of these morally bankrupt people in Colorado are:

Denver Post Rams Homosexuality Down Readers’ Throats

Don’t like having to explain to your six-year-old why two men are kissing across the front page of the newspaper? That’s just too bad, according to the Denver Post, which recently ran a picture of Colorado House Speaker Mark Ferrandino smooching sex partner Greg Wertsch to celebrate the passage of yet another bill promoting homosexuality:
The Post ran that photo as its main front-page picture, taking up 20-25 percent of the front page.

Real Nice. How Do You Tell Your Children About Two Men Swapping Spit On The Front Page Of A Major newspaper, Eh?
    A Deplorable Bitter Clinger

Explain to them that there are different types and kinds of romantic love and none are wrong just because an ancient book written by men and purporting to be the word of God is being selectively interpreted to make it so.

^That might work in an Arab society but we're talking here a predominantly Christian audience there in Denver. Especially the numbers of Mexican/Americans who reside in that state. Majority of whom are Roman Catholic.

The SF Chronicle perhaps although a pic like that on their front page might be ott.

    Are we:
The largest denominations by number of adherents in 2000 were the Roman Catholic Church with 752,505; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with 92,326 (133,727 year-end 2007) ; and Baptist with 85,083.[45]
At 25%, Colorado also has an above-average proportion of citizens who claim no religion. The U.S. average is 17%.
Colorado - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That compares with a 2000 census of 4.3 million people, so that's under a quarter of all people.

Do you believe in God and all that 'religious definition of marriage', Booners? That would explain a lot.

It doesn't feel right, and we can't sacrifice all traditions to please every single minority that comes up with a nutty idea.

The 'tradition' of marriage as being exclusively between one man and one woman isn't actually all that traditional. In fact in the grand scheme of things and with reference to history it's actually rather newish.

Myself, I really don't see what's so wrong (or nutty for that matter) about wanting the same right to marriage that everyone else has to express/celebrate your love for someone just because they happen to be of the same sex.

I've already explained that it is not traditional so just relying on repetition won't negate that. In fact before marriage as we know it today there were other forms of marriage, up to and including same sex marriage, so in a temporal sense they are in fact more 'traditional'. As to your point of what kids in school should be told are you not familiar with the concept of separation of Church and State.

So apparently what your argument really boils down to is foisting your own selective interpretation of the (already comically illogical) bible and 'Christian values' onto others. After all, are compassion, understanding and tolerance not 'Christian values' too, Booners? Why do you think that your own personal beliefs and values should be used to deny other people the same rights you enjoy yourself. Because that's what it comes down to - human rights.

I assume that you also realise that at a point in time not that long ago other people citing the same 'Christian values' would have objected to your own, inter-racial, marriage, right?

Look, it's very simple. Gay sex isn't anywhere as hot if it's sanctioned by the state. It needs to be forbidden to be sexy.

Wide stance in an airport bathroom: smokin' hot.

Waking up next to the same guy you've woken up next to for 15 years: meh, boring.

Republicans just want to keep their gay sex really hot. Can you blame them?

You know, I really think you're on to something there. Rethuglicans don't have sex objects that they can admit to, but they do have Hate Objects that the love to parade around for a good public spleen venting. They're terrified of losing another hate object.

gay marriage is no longer a democrat/republican issue.
gay marriage isn't even a left/right issue anymore.

    it's a young/old issue.

marriage equality is coming to all 50 states. maybe not with this most recent case before SCOTUS, but soon.

gays have been legally allowed to adopt for decades.

Legal status of adoption by same-sex couples in North America. Joint adoption and stepparent adoption legal

I bet they punt it back down to a lower court otherwise Scalia is going to have to choose between voting against state rights, or voting for gay marriage.

Oh, and this which I stole from elsewhere:

Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal

    01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

    02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

    03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

    04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

    05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of marriages like Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

    06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

    07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

    08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

    09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

    10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

    A gay man ? - now that's a a classic oxymoron.
    Men are hetrosexual .
Gays are not even emotionally adult sadly stuck at the early adolescent stage , they are unstable shrieking, apologies of a life form .
They have difficulty controlling thier movements too- hence the classic signs of the disease- the limp wrist - teapot arm - the mincing walk.
They have a morbid fascination with the excrement passage of other males.
Are hugely over represented in paedophile cases.

In short they have huge problems ,which they need to sort out , rather than worry about being allowed to play at being adults ie get '' married ''

Yes i guess it was the same in ancient Rome when they started introducing the sick Colosseum killing shows , the young who had been educated to believe it was normal werer infavour of it while the older , wiser could see it for what it was .

need more examples of youth been brainwashed ?

    The Hitler youth
    Chairman Maos red Army
    Pol Pots youth organization

guess anyone who disagreed with any of the above were seen as old farts as well ..

Best thing to do to help homos is not to clap and cheer them like you liberals do , but to help them to understand they have a problem and are sick and need to get cured .

So you think they choose to be bullied and discriminated against and have their civil rights abrogated?

    You are the sick one.

another one to add to the list, soon

Rhode Island on the verge of legalizing same-sex marriage

Rhode Island is virtually assured to become the tenth state to legalize same-sex marriage.

The Rhode Island Senate voted 26-12 on Wednesday to approve legislation that would allow same-sex couples to legally marry in the state as early as August 1.

“This is a historic piece of legislation, one that literally has been in the works for more than 20 years,” Sen. Donna Nesselbush, D-Pawtucket, the bill’s main sponsor in the Senate, told the Associated Press. “This is something that undoes centuries of discrimination against gay and lesbian couples.”

The bill easily passed through the state House earlier this year, but was expected to face opposition in the state Senate. The legislation heads back to the state House for a final vote before Gov. Lincoln Chafee can sign the bill into law, which he has promised to do.

Ok, I confess I'm a practizing bisexual. Can I marry my male and female lovers together? It's the most natural thing to do, because almost everybody has hetero as well as homosexual experiences. Who says a marriage can be between two consenting adults only? What sort of reactionary are you to oppose the menage a trois marriage?
