The waterfall is a good time, many pools along the way to cool off. Morning Shower, sweet. There are rock paths and wooden steps up to the falls. No Handicapped access. Good workout in the morning. Just walk past the Elephant rides and souvenir's stalls, no charge. Good bicycle ride from Chewang and back.Originally Posted by sabaii sabaii

Having recently lived for 3 months on the place, and although it's a cliche,it's
become an over developed shithole.Saying that,it's bearable for a few days visit, especially if you avoid Chaweng, which seems to be a refuge for old brass
waiting to die.You probably already know about the scams, but also be warned about
the contagious Koh Samui bullshitters disease that effects most of the westerners
living there. It's says a lot when I was actually relieved to be residing back in Bangkok.
Most islands drive folk a little crazy and Samui is no exception but for visitors it's actually quite a peach but not cheap, so be prepared to spend.
Chaweng has the best and longest beach but attracts the most visitors. The southern end is quieter. Accommodation comprising all grades has been developed along its entirety behind which an unbroken line of bars, restaurants and tatty stores run parallel. There is a beer bar scene towards the northern end concentrated into a ghetto but the cacophony of sounds competing for your attention and wallet is horrendous. Most hookers there are from Pattaya it seems.
But for me it's Bophut. The beach isn't a patch on Chaweng but there are no hassles and relaxation is the name of the game. The locals agreed years ago to exclude beer bars/gogo joints from their parish and this embargo seems to be still in force. Over the past few years so called luxury hotels have developed along the shore but to my mind the best place in Bophut is The Lodge with its 10 rooms or so directly on the beach. Unpretentious, clean and decorated in character with wood finishings. The penthouse rooms have terrific views from their large balconies and sitting on these, supping a beer or two is as good as it gets.
The point about Bophut is, once there you don't need to go anywhere else. The restaurants and bars are all pretty good with a decent choice of food styles and at a range of prices. The Shack is good for steaks and watching the septic owner whipping himself into a frenzy keeping on top of the orders is a joy to watch.
Do not bother with songthaews but hire yourself a suzuki jeep at around 1000 bt a day - Goi from the Lodge will sort you out. Songthaew at night are a total bastard and should be avoided.
The Lodge used to be about 1600 bt but I imagine the rates have increased by now.
Samui is awesome, Bophut Beach. Hansar Resort, I had the time of my life. A little more expensive but worth it. Rent a scooter, explore....
Negative so far. "Window' test after 6 months recommended.
For a bloke, lube up, when screwing, less abrasion.
Piss out and wash off after event.
No "deep' kissing, tongue into the eye etc.
There's no refund for life.
I tend to choose my ladies carefully, so far, so good.
^ No, not really.
I normally engage in long term relationships.
But.....who can you trust?
