Patong Beach area itself doesn't have anything worth diving, although they do use a lot of spots there for diver training. There are lots of dive shops on Patong from which you can book trips, both short and long, to a variety of nearby sites.

Patong bay is an open sewer don't even think about it. Plenty of places u can book. Racha Yai / noi better idea. Phi phi is long trip.
