Ko Samui / Pan Ngan and Ko Tao

I'm now on the island of Ko Pan Ngan - not a bad place and I'm on the north east of the island away from the Had Rin nightmare fest.
Food and internet is pretty fucking pricey here but the accomodation is cheap (200B for a beach hut with bathroom).

I still have no camera being the useless kunt that I am but I'm sure there's plenty of pictures avaliable on google should you feel the need.

It's ok here and nice to get out of Bangkok but there aren't any Thai women about really , just moody western female backpackers - oh well I think it's off to Ko Samui in a few days time to rediscover that pleasure of mine.

Plenty of ganja around here so that's handy...

Got the train down from BK , cost about 500B then another 350B from Surat Thani station to the port (1hr) then the ferry (2 1\2 hrs).

    That's all for now.

the question on my mind now is should I even bother with Ko Samui at all as a lot of people are saying it's just an overpriced hell-hole.

    any views anyone?

You'll be hard up getting accomodation on koh-samui for that price......most of the cheap beach-huts on samui went years ago...

If it's girls you want, you could always get a boat to samui, pick up a slapper and take her back to pan ngan?? ...

I haven't taken that train ride from bangkok for over ten years.... how many hours is the train ride again?

For future ref I see airasia is doing flights down to Surat Thani now, 199 baht plus tax. So works out around 500 baht for one way. Good deal no?

Check out Laem Son bungalows, its nice and quiet, and defo check out Kop's Place at Haad Yao for Thai food, you will not beat the curries there, and of course Vantanas for English brekkie.

Have a good one, mr bruv and his gf down there now.

It was 9 hours (night train)

I will not bother with Ko Samui now - just sounds like an overpriced Pattaya....going to Ko Tao instead - if I can find a reasonably priced internet cafe I can write a better thread but doubt it will be possible there.

Head to Farrangos on Koh Tao, lovely Salmon Pasta!

Net as far as I remember isn't too badly priced, about the same as Phangan.

Too good to be true mate, About 10 seats per flight are at that price. The average price is gonna be about 1,000 plus 500 baht in tax and fuel charges, not a bad deal, but its then just over 3 more hours to the island.

I agree with that AO - I looked into flights to Surat and they were about 1000B one way with tax - still a fair distance to get to KPG from the airport as well.

It's the full moon party on Hat Rin, KPG tonight but I'm not going - not really my idea of fun - call me a boring old git if you like..

I'm in a place called Haad Salad which is on the NW of the island -anyone been here?

Just lounging around the beach and going for the odd walk - went to a waterfall today but was more of a trickle really - there was a naked farang chick sunning herself on a rock though which was a surprise - she soon pushed off though!

A couple more days here then it's off to Tong Sala (the port of KPG) and semi-civilization again.

I'm in Koh Samui now and it is awesome! I'm having such a great time even though I was thrown in a bucket of ice cold water today!

Well I'll post photos of Koh Samui later and I'm also off to Bangkok and Cambodia after this trip. Fun fun fun.
    Welcome to the jungle!
