Hey newbies, it doesn't matter if you were banned.

Newbies,

It's not necessary to have the first thing to come out of your fingers as being banned from another forum. Don't worry about it. Everytime I read it that somebody was banned from TV I get a little thought along the lines of.

"so what"

It doesn't really matter. This is a different forum, some posters are the same as the forums you are used to others are not.

It's a lot like walking into a bar and announcing that you have just had BJ. Nobody really cares most people have had one at some point and some haven't (sorry William but I was told you haven't)

Anyway just my thoughts on the matter.

Mid, I think I came close last night when I discussed the safety of the Samui ferries. Moderator didn't like my attitude and another member rushed to my defense, outraged by Mod's response. entertaining to say the least, but it does feel a little like Stalin's Russia over there lately.

I just saw that, no reason for her at all to start mouthing off about your attitude.

The reason why people like to let off steam when they first come over here (and i did the same and still do occasionaly) is that there is no where else relevant to do it, and also when the idiots ban you over there, you have no way of contacting people as obviously you no longer have the pm function, that's what really fooked me off the first time (now standing at 4) they banned me, i had just lost my phone the previous week aswell and it was a headache getting back in contact with everyone.

Basically the only 2 forums i use now are secrets and here and on both these forums if i have some complaint or whatever i can say it here no problems, which is the way it should be, not like that Mary Poppins moderated forum where you can't say boo to a goose.

Is it just me, or is the dominant theme (or obsession) of teakdoor REALLY what goes on over at Thaivisa? It feels like I've stumbled into a household held together by their hatred of their neighbours.

nope, its a phasal thing.
happened about 18 months ago when lots of banned TV posters arrived at the same time and seems to be happening again.

It goes in cycles. A lot of people have come over from TV recently.

I bet TV admins and mods run those huge purge once in a while so that their servers doesn't get jammed with regulars posting all kind of non-sense that could scare off newbies. It's the equivalent of "renovating" the bar and have a chance to kick everybody out once in a while. It clears the room, easier for management.

when you are given a holiday it equals one strike and ten your out.

mods pm's, as long as they are not combined with a holiday are ok and the better mods will communicate there concern without issuing a holiday.

most of those guys are ok but theres a few that fuk it up for the rest.

i was on the forum 5 days and got a ten day holiday straight up. :)

im still registered after all this time and have made over 3000 posts.

the guy that suspended me turned out to be a real nice fellow and it was my fault as i did not read the rules.

its the same as when they banned " udon " who used to be a mod.

i was around when it happened and used to see him lose it when someone posted against him.

old crock was his best mate and i would bait both of them to see who would self implode first as they deserved it and i was'nt the only one.

anyway udon really blew his load one day and the admin fuked him off. :)

so i suppose we must give them credit for that.

Srange how we get these waves of TV members every once in a while ain't it? never posted on that board. Like some one said earlier they'll bitch 'n moan about the place for a while. Some'll settle in; others, like brow beaten dogs, will go tail waggin' back.

I'm not banned, but had loads of holidays from TV, not hard seeing as speaking your mind is like cutting a loud one at the royal toffs club garden party, it's just not good ettiquette dontchya know.
A few days ago, it was Sunday the day all the Trolls and miserable old gits turn out for a good old row, I called an obvious troll a troll and an idiot, that's all.
I then got a PM from Lopburi3 suspending my posting for three days for flaming said troll, I'm like who gives a fuck. 15 minutes later I got another PM from Lopburi3 reinstating my posting rights and agreeing that yes after looking further into the guys posts the guy probably was a troll and an idiot, but next time perhaps I could use more appropriate language!!
I don't really give a fuck as i find it all quite petty and amusing.
