just a short time ago i remember the bush white house and its co-conspirators were trying to convince the world than an 'arab spring' was taking place in the ME. now, the US is doing its best to suffocate the democratically elected govt. of palestine, and the israelis have 25,000 troops on the ground in the their neighbor's territory....also governed by a democratically elected govt.

Also keep in mind that the reason why Hamas and Hezbollah has the amount of support they do is that they are also running schools, hospitals, etc. They are also blissfully free of the kind of corruption that Fatah was renowned for. In the eyes of the local population, they are the only organisations they have ever known that has ever genuinely cared for the well-being of the Palestinians.Quote:

The Lebanese gov failed in disarming them, contrary to UN resolutions, that much is true.
Lebanon has been in a tough position for years and years. They don't want to upset either the Syrians or the Israelis ... that was especially the position when the Gemyals were in power ... that's why the son (President elect) was assassinated just days before his inaugaration in 1982 by the Syrians.Quote:
