Driving at 150KPH on outback dirt roads in Australia which are usually only graded once a year after the wet season

Averaging 74 KPH on a 1400 KLM trip is more realistic you would have to be going faster than 100 KPH most of the time to average that speed

I stayed in Ruwai a few years back; horrible little community of foreigners there - I thought... Why do you like it there, what are the things that attract you?

Lots of nice foreigners live in Rawai now, one of the nicest areas to reside in
Very few sexpats if any here, certainly not where we live
Really nice neighbors both foreign and Thai, not a lot of traffic, its easy to get
around, not a lot of DUI even at night you can walk to a bar from most villages in 5 minutes
Tesco lotus, makro and Villa mart stores are now close so you do not have to travel to Phuket town for decent shopping
The nicest beaches in Phuket are close, have to go north of the airport to find beaches as good
A few years back Rawai was backwater not anymore, its got a lot busier in the last 3 years

I've been in Rawai a long time to. I like it BUT it is really going to shiit in past 3 years or so...Lots of sex, drunks crime and my pet peeve of all CRAZY out of control DRIVERS not just the Thais doing this either, just read the crappy online news blogs about all the road kills in this little village of Rawai ,
What it needs is a Police Station (not sure it will help much TIT) to control the public safety in Rawai because as of now there is NONE, people just do as they please....
