    Lightning shot in Trang

I've spent the last week in Trang.

last evening with a few Long islands inside me i attempted to take some lightning shots, but they were crap i thought.

Anyway I just took the RAW files off the camera and looked at them and there are 2 good shots. One is spoiled by a jump of the camera ruining the lights of the pier in the distance, but this one was good, just turned the exposure down in Lightroom by less than 1. The JPG produced by the camera was rubbish, you couldn't see the streak, but the raw file was good. Proof that shooting raw really is a good idea.

Good effort, well done. I've tried several times to get some lightning shots with mining hills (tailings) in the background during thunder storms but no luck so far.... bloody tricky thats for sure.

Best to use a tripod and leave open for several seconds.

Nice pic by the way Bob.
