    Scampy's Photoshop Problems Thread

I am new to Photoshop so forgive me if I have overlooked something but despite using the elipse marquee tool to crop the photo and then masking it before applying the gaussian blur - the original edge of the photo is still faintly visible - see example below - a gift for my best mate and her new husband (when I can get it perfect).

I also need to know how to blend just the edges of a photo into a background image. I know this involves 'inversing' before blurring but I can't get the desired effect.

If anyone can help - lovely.

My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Can't help, but have to mention I've been browsing your videos on youtube. Very well done, and I recognize that couple from the Samui Fusion video.

Did you really write that song "Big Summer?" It seems to me I've heard some famous band play that, but can't remember who, maybe String Cheese Incident?

Maybe erase around the edge of the photo before you combine all the photos together. Not perfect, but it might help.

Thankyou and regarding Big Summer, if you have heard anyone else do the same song then I need to get back to England, find the tape I sealed and sent to myself in 1999 and call a solicitor!

    Ok, back to Photoshop.

If you email me the Photoshop file, I can sort it out for you (as long as the Windows version is compatible with the Mac version).

It's simple Scampy, just draw the viewers attention away from the lines. Here is a rather sophisticated attempt, you may want to try something simpler...

You're right NickA, I didn't even notice the lines.
Those tits (top left) look fake to me. What do you think?

Another tip to reduce the visibility of the lines would be to remove the big letters that say "Line visible here" as it really brings attention to the problem.... maybe replace them with "Nice tits!" or "I shagged her before"

What is most shit about Photoshop is that the layout consists of several tiny little boxes and palettes with drop down menus - now this isn't so bad if they automatically rearrange themselves into default order each time you open the application but once they have been upset, they stay that way!!!

Now you can of course spend time tidying them up yourself but then the mask function what Marmers showed me can't be found for love nor money and looks like this.

Ok, take another look at the following photo to see another problem I have. See the Heiniken top left, instead of doing what Marmers showed me in the Old Dutch and keeping the main picture solid but having the edges blend into nothingness, I have a solid oval.

The opacity function has vanishes with the mask icon - but even if it hadn't, how again do I blend the edges of photos?

OK - When you get your laptop back, pop over and I'll do the job for you on my real computer. I won't charge you for the first job.
