I sure enjoy swirling the frostys on floating bars There's a small one called bamboozler on baloy Beach that I suggested skidmark should check out . But apparently it wouldn't suit his sense of humour and as he's 40 now? He's unlikely to develop one now . Crack on with your excellent thread Topper. Damn. It's more fun in the Philippines. Whoever thought up that tourism marketing strategy sure got it right. Or they might of overheard me saying that in a Bar? Or on a floating bar

I haven't been back to Puerto galera since my first trip to the Philippines when I was 19. There wasn't a floating bar then.

Late afternoon excursion ....this place has become our favorite, Ozzie owner. Most of the bars here are owned by foreigners or their wives. We met a few yesterday.

    Wow!

That water is amazing. What is the temperature like? Refreshing or too warm?

Look at the state of that BBQ. Could you do me a favour, tell that Aussie to hand in his Aussie licence. Just needs a little love and care.

Katie, I'm very disappointed with that answer!

Wife = no, she doesn't enjoy holidays with me.

Chokdee = no, I can't trust your people not to eat him.

The walks = no, no, no - I was thinking about driving to some nice tourist destinations, sitting on the beach, nice food and cultural explanations by your good self.

I will now go and crawl under a rock due to your total dismissal of my excellent original idea. Occasionally, I'll pop out to look at Topper's pics (not pictures of Topper, I hasten to add).

Are those boats for regular travel or tourist trips? Can you hire one? Is there any decent fishing?

I went on a snorkeling trip there.

Was as cheap as chips back then.

    Really enjoyed it.

We did as well, but it does keep the storm surge from a typhoon from doing too much harm. Now that I think about it, the resorts all had walls or were built back off the beach.

There's tons of the pump boats around to go island hopping. The water temp is like warm bath water, looks great but not really cool enough to be refreshing. There also must be fish around, there's plenty of boats out between here and Cebu. It won't show on the camera, but the northern tip of Cebu can be seen from the beach.

You can go to the "Philippines" thread main page, and scroll down. Your thread is still there.

Well, you only had 1 day in Manila. If you had 2 days, I would've suggested a dangerous hike near Manila. You prolly would've seen many millenials and their hiking tour groups.

    *******

@topper - how are the number of tourists there, now that it's a weekend? A lot or just minimal?

For the P330 price of the breakfast, I would've expected 4 slices of toast, not 2.

The waitress at Thai-Phoon is another reason to visit...smoking hot and she spent probably 30 minutes describing what it was like to live there.
