It's a polite courtesy nowadays.

People's images are taken hundreds of times a day without their consent via cctv, camera door bells etc etc, it's impossible to police unless you are on private property.

Otherwise in public everyone is fair game to the photon collector, that's just the way it is nowadays and some people don't get it.

@BLD - it's the way of the world now. Some people or Filipinos) don't care about it and are OK to be in vloggers' vids or pics, but some aren't and they value their privacy. Bottom line is, if someone doesn't like their image to be online in a photo or video and asks you to delete, then you delete it.

That's why in my recent pic threads (I think it was about Baguio), I blurred out all the faces and/ or posted only peooles' backs.

Re: backspin's pics, I didn't call him out on them since he doesn't live in PH and won't be sued, etc. The "pajama girls" - only their backs were seen = safe. The "motor show girls" - they're hired models, so they must have signed a consent form that their image could be taken & uploaded to websites = safe. The guy with the gun = he probably won't object to having his pic uploaded = safe.

Contrast that with UK laws, for example. There was the recent "piano gate" issue involving "Dr K" Brendan Kavanagh(?), a YouTuber/ pianist. He was live streaming from a train station in London. He was asked by some Chinese ppl to not film them and to delete the vid. He said he was within his rights in the UK (filming is allowed in public places). If that situation happened in PH and ppl asked him to delete the photo/ vid, then he should delete them. Diff country, diff rules.

I remember hearing from an expat vlogger (here in PH) about a time when he was in a mall food court. He panned the camera to capture the ppl in the food court. A lady noticed it and approached him and asked him to delete the vid since she didn't want to be in the vid which will be on YouTube. Expat at first didn't want to delete. Then the lady said that she's a lawyer and stated the names & numbers of the laws (Safe Spaces Act, Data Privacy Act) and that she was within her rights to ask to delete the vid. Expat vlogger complied. Then he made a vid abt it. He didn't know abt the laws (they were relatively new at that time) but as we know, ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

in the uk, if there are disabled children in the school photo, the company offers parents the choice of editing them out.
