Many (or maybe most?) of the jellyfish in PH do sting. When my friends and I went to Hundred Islands (up north in Pangasinan province), we were alighting from our boat when one of my girl-friends started shrieking. Turned out that a jellyfish had wrapped itself around her foot. She wore flip-flops, so the jellyfish was able to cover a lot of surface area. One of the boatmen had vinegar and applied it to her foot. It stung and for the rest of our vacay, the rashes from the jellyfish could be seen.
@backspin - if ever you'll travel to tourist spots in Luzon this week or until Monday, make a reservation. It's peak season & you wouldn't want to arrive at the place, tired from the drive/ ride and have to go door to door because there's no vacancy. After Monday, most locals will be back at their jobs so you can wing it if you wish to.
