That's how the locals roll. Turn up.in a jeepney with the barcada or family rent a hut or 2 by the day eat mostly the food and drinks they brought with them. Looks like fun

^^doesn't surprise me that you're the only gringo there. Marinduque isn't really a tourist destination. Maybe when Sara Duterte's resort is finished, she'll hire or invite some vloggers/ influences to her resort and then it'll gain traction. It isn't popular to the Manila crowd or foreign tourists (who go to Boracay, Palawan, PG, Siargao, Cebu, La Union, etc).
@backspin - you should enjoy the island as it is now. It's probably like Koh Samui (or whichever island Terry 57 lived in) around 20 or 30 yrs ago.
Btw, IMO there's no harm in wearing a long sleeved shirt for swimming. I think Tizme uses one too. I use one too, esp if I'm going boating/ island hopping.
That's how we rolled in one of my former jobs. We (or the bosses) hired minivans and we drove to San Juan, Batangas. We brought our own food (the aunties/ mommies in the dept prepared it). We hired the Pavillion/ big hut at Kabayan resort. It was a day trip. We had mostly team-building games in the morning, had lunch, then were free in the afternoon. Some of us hired a boat/ boatman and explored the vicinity. As guests of the resort, we were allowed to look/ tour their facilities. They had their own resto but we didn't partake.
50.
I was there 40 years ago.
Well on the path to development then.
Thanks, AO. Was it Koh Samui were T57 lived?
It reminds me of the story/ experience of my sister. In the late 90s, she joined a group (from a university) to survey the marine life at/ near Coton island. She said there was no electricity then and their group stayed at the home of a local. The local family provided food & lodging. They slept on mats on the floor.
When I went to Coron in 2018, it was very commercial already. There were lots of resorts & hotels, souvenir shops, tour agencies and boat tours. Lots of Chinese & some Japanese tour groups - it was pre-covid.
yeah Katie it was Samui, it was strange we should have met each other, not so many long time stayers back then.
^ & ^^ yeah. I remember that Terry posted pics of his time in the islands. I think he operated a boat/ dive tour company with a friend (?)
@BLD - yeah, ppl from Manila & surrounds would go to Subic (if they're nearer to the north) or to Batangas & Cavite beaches (if they're nearer the south) for day trips. Marinduque island is too far from Manila for day trips (would need at least 3 days for car/bus ride + ferry) so it isn't that popular. That could change once Sara Duterte's resort becomes operational. One of Rodrigo's grandchildren, Isabelle Duterte, is a fashionista and somewhat of an influencer w/ lots of followers.
The front of the almost finished resort. It's huge
As far as the assholes bitching about my pics , it's hyper busy here. It isn't easy taking pics without getting in ppls face. I don't want to be rude. It isn't as easy as it seems. So just piss off
This is a Rusi Macho TC-125. Whatever that is I like seeing these brand new basic bikes. I seen a Yamaha earlier with some of the protective film still on. It looked right out of 1990
Took a jet ski for a rip yesterday. 1800 cc Yamaha. I'm feeling the burn this morning. It was great seeing the bottom of the ocean the whole time. The water wasn't actually that deep. i was concerned about rocks when i was carving. I got it almost to 80 km/h. Next time I'll take note of the wind
Back to late night thoughts about my cock.
Those long, lonely nights getting to you again?
Never mind - have another swig of rotgut.
@backspin - thnx for the pix
Btw, be careful in posting pics or vids. Make sure the ppl are not identifiable. (That's why I blur faces of ppl in my threads.) There are 2 laws: Data Privacy Act (RA 10173) and Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313). If you're taking a vid & someone objects & asks you to delete the vid - you delete the vid.
Rusi motorbikes are imported from China. I've heard from others that they don't last long (but are cheaper than the Japanese brands).
