GOOD.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to the Jolly Friar today, they got one in Soi Lengkee off of Soi Diana Inn in Pattaya, plus the new one in Jomtien which is in the small Soi behind the KR Bar, ie about 30 meters from Dong Tan police station is the small Soi and it is facing you down there, it's a double unit so you can't miss it.
Inside is air-con so obviously no smoking, outside is a small patio area where you can smoke away till your heart is content or you have coughed your lungs up, the funny thing about this place is the colour scheme, blue and white, never seen that used for a restaurant before, I mean places like Mac Donalds and KFC have spent millions on working out the best colour schemes for restaurants and getting arses on seats, this place has gone against all the normal rules for a restaurant.
The menu is pretty big, does several sorts of fish in batter, English style pies, Thai food for some reason, curry sauce for us 'ard as fuk southerners, and mushy peas for gay northern monkeys.
Anyway I only wanted a snack and the jumbo sausage in batter took my fancy, although in the menu the picture is just of a sausage, but the waitress pointed out that it came in batter, probably would be better off if they done the menu pics correctly in the first place, but no doubt a Thai printer printed them up, still it was pretty good, haven't had one in over 20 years and it was a bit too savoury for me, but I am noticing these days that I am finding some English pies a bit too savoury, think the sausage was 65baht, fish and chips start at 100baht but don't expect cod for that money, English tea in a pot at 45baht, all in all pretty good.
Outside seating area of the restaurant.
Sausage in Batter, it was a big beasty, came with tartar sauce, also had heinz malt vinegar and brown sauce on the table, the salad looked a bit tired though.
^ Whoever laid that log, should go see a doctor.
i thought tartare sauce went with fish or scampi ?
No picture of the Bogs Alan. Most disappointing.
If ever a dish needed needed mushy peas, that ^ is it, then it would look a bit less gay.
A southern softie saveloy in bottyboy batter.
Tartare goes with anything. On toast is one of my faves..Originally Posted by sabaii sabaii
I think thousand island sauce would be better suited to that sausage.
