socal, I been here a long time, I aint going to tell you how many cesspits we connected to the street drainage, at the time it didn't matter, weren't no one willing to go into that sea anyway, it was full of shit, I would say over half the cesspits we built are still going into street drainage, we were a small company, how many thousands of others do it....

Busy bar in a standard shop house the cess pit fills in 3 days, 200baht to empty it, or do a bit of major work and run your cess pit into the street drainage, you can see what most people went for, those pipes are still there.

thats right asshole. A big part of attracting business to a beach is to have the beach reasonably clean. And the big hotels are not owned by Thais

Cant quite understand why Travelmate is so angry as I have been informed it was an act performed by two consenting adults.

Never been ? I can garantee you that they are WORSE the Pattaya yet Pattaya gets all the heat.

And thanks for giving me a chance to shove your foot in your mouth.

This is a quote out of an article about an Australian beach. "Seawater sampling has found the presence of faecal coliform bacteria at one location along the beach at a level that is below public health risk"

Like I said about Pattaya, there could be some grey water getting into the beach but ,
coliform bacteria along the beach is at a level that is below public health risk.

Sewage bacteria found at Darwin beach

    Updated Sat May 14, 2011 9:51am AEST
Nightcliff Beach will remain closed to swimmers until at least the middle of next week (ABC TV)

A popular Darwin beach will remain closed to swimmers until at least the middle of next week because bacteria found in sewage has been found in the water.
Nightcliff Beach near Chapman Road was one of two city beaches closed three days ago because of high levels of enterococci bacteria.
Karen Beirne from the Department of Health says it is unlikely Nightcliff Beach will be reopened soon.
"Last year it was closed probably 50 per cent of the time," she said.
"There's a lot of things happening that adversely affect water quality at that particular site."
Lee Point Beach has now been reopened to swimmers after the entercocci level fell.

Urban Australian beaches sometimes get warning signs (but not closed) for a day or 2 after heavy rain due to drain overflow raising bacteria concentration above acceptable levels but it is not frequent. Pretty easy to google and find one of the reports though. Generally the seawater and even the harbour water is very clean. Don't know about Darwin but I would be more worried about getting eaten by a saltwater crocodile up there.

Got a link for that you fucking idiot? Define grey water. You've only blathered on about how the high-so types that own the resorts are environmentally sound because it's better for tourism.

I can't wait to read about you on here some day when you are at the end of a binge and you think Thais are great drivers. Please make a video. TWAT!

Quite, I live there half the time and the question is mute. No one gives a fuck about the state of the water really cos the crocs will get you anyway. Except tourists and who cares about them

The article Suckal posted, which refers to this year, fails to mention that we had the biggest rains ever this wet season. 3 meters of rain. Yup, 3 fokin meters.

I live in Fannie Bay, not far from Nightcliffe and the rains were amazing. A lot of shit got washed out there, but it was an exceptional event.

Heavy rain, overflow, high bacteria and we are talking about Australia......

Loytoy, Butters and every other bullshitter on this thread said that this phenomena is only restricted to Pattaya beach Thailand.

Excuses excuses excuses. Got any more ?

I am not saying that Aussy beaches are dirty, I am saying that Pattaya beach is no more dirty then any other. All of these beach towns have the same problems.
