No Booze today in Pattaya (Makro)

Not sure if the bars are open, but Makro & 7-11 et all aren't selling booze today.

Anybody know why?

A real pain in the ass to try & grab a case of beer for the weekend but nope. Not today sucker! GRRR...

Umm, maybe because it's the years biggest Buddhist holiday today? And shops don't sell booze on these holidays.
Only place u can find your grog is at a hotel bar/club. They still serve.

Maybe look at the bottom of the main forum page, it gives up and coming holidays for the next 7 days, just an idea like.

You can almost always find a bar that will let you in through the rear entrance. (no pun intended)

Even the beach restaurants in Banchang wouldn't serve a beer with food yesterday, which is the first time I've ever seen this.

The Thai holidays are on all Calenders printed in Thailand. You can still buy from the mom and pop shops.

Just, please either sell booze or don't sell booze.

It always seems like hit & miss, with constantly new reasons (elections, holidays, curfews etc...) to not sell booze.

Let's not forget the 1400-1700 witching hours.

Yes but only in shops like Makro, 7/11 and others that have proper computerized cash registers. Small mom and pop shops are quite happy to sell.
