A lot of pissed off people standing outside closed gyms yesterday especially the ones with newly purchased 1 year memberships. Tony is claiming he is having problems with his landlords but the word on the street is that he wont be back.

I'd imagine Tim Ward is going to have kittens about this 555
I just drove past the shit hole he had on Siam Country Club Road and overnight he has removed all his shite equipment and the place is up for rent.
I hope there are not too many he has ripped off.
From what I've heard Tony is not a man to cross
I would not be looking for my money back
classic, the Thai army is on his case, with all his drug dealing, seems like he has done a safe runner
There was a Tony's in Ramkamhaeng 24, which I assume only exists by name only. the signs and pics of him are well faded and I was told the place once had a sauna, hot tub and steam room.
A soi dog now sits in the doorway, it's still open, well run down, but at 900 a month I wouldn't expect anything too salubrious, it's heyday was ptobably in the 90s
So, will we now see a lot more fat people popping up, "out of nowhere?"...
Why does one require a "proper gym" to stay fit....??
How many members did these gyms have in total? Not enough to pay the rent.
Freezing aircon should never be blasting in a gym where your body generates heat
What happened to his club/discotheque, please ?
Is this the same gym?
Many, if not all, of Tony’s Fitness Centres around Pattaya lay empty last night.
Customers, who had paid their membership fees, were left standing outside and scratching their heads. There has been no warning and no notices.
The rumour is that Tony has not been paying his rent and the landlords have moved in and confiscated equipment.
The only ‘official line’ was posted on Facebook last night.
‘Many people have been asking what is going on with Tony’s Fitness after the closure of several locations with no advance notice. Due to sudden problems with the landowner of these locations we have had to move.
Please bear with us as we relocate. In the meantime the affected group D and group E memberships are good at our other group D and group E locations.
People who go to the classes can still go to classes at our main fitness on 3rd road. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely
Tony’s’
Confiscating 'Tony's" equipment is either stupid or brave considering how well connected is is alleged to be. I guess the third road branch will now be crowded-nothing worse than an overcrowded gym imo
His brother Tommy ran the 87 Club at the Conrad hotel. Not sure now, as I'm talking 2004-6.
He was a reasonable man to work for when things were going well. He also got me a few hiso/Brit expat wedding gigs, which was a nice change from watching arabs gyrating with high class freelancers while I stood bored shitless most nights
So how much did a years membership cost?
^Don't know exactly, he'd have "special offers" on for yearly or life membership once or twice a year. Mrs Worx wanted life membership about 7 years ago and that cost something like 17k Baht during one of his "sales".
Good deal, she's been in one of his gyms 2 or 3 times a week since for that one-of price. Including yesterday, so the Jomtien gym is still open.
I used to train occasionally at the one on Soi Buakow..It was very poorly maintained and dirty. Once a bit of equipment broke it stayed broke. The staff had zero interest in anything apart from playing with their phones and picking their noses.
With so many hotels now having their own modern clean gyms the days of places like Tonys have gone.
One of the things i did enjoy about the place was watching the tourists asking Big Tim for sefies. He would pretend he was pissed off but was really loving the attention.
^
Show us your one with Tim then.
(Don't worry about it if it was in your hotel bedroom)
