To add insult to injury, it is now reported that none other than "Secrets", the tourist bar down off Walking Street has copied the Billabong model and is charging barfines for "freelancers". 500 Baht. If you meet her at Secrets, you owe us a barfine. Can you imagine the horror of all this? You blokes allowing the likes of Secrets rip you off in plain sight without any recourse?

We in NokWorld have always maintained that the working prostitutes in these so called "bars" were never employees to start with. However, to now insinuate that any girl in the bar earns the bar a barfine is going over the top. This management group can never be expected to follow the norm as they after all, pimps in shining armor. This is just repulsive to us. There isn't even a pretense that "she works here". She's nothing but a freelancer. There won't even be the STD free assurance wherein said marketeers claim they have had the girls "checked". This of course was always bullshit as well, but it sure made the tourists feel better about having sex at double the price and knowing she was "clean" as assured by the likes of Ben.

Disclaimer: I've not in Secrets in over two years. I always liked the concept, but their attempts to scam got me a long time ago. No mas. Nice guys, but they are trying to fuck you over. Govern yourselves accordingly. Yes, you can say we don't understand "business" and all that shit I used to read when asked to buy a girl from another farang. Hmm. In Bangkok most upmarket bars charge freelancers to sit in/at the bar so really no difference to the end user, as I'm sure freelancers who paid the bar 500 would simply pass it on.
Agreed some of the more savvy managers will let them sit gratis as it brings in customers, but...
