    Huge explosion at Maptaput

My wife just told me about a huge explosion at Maptaput this evening. She said 10 people killed and people being told to stay indoors with the aircon off due to a toxic cloud. We in Pattaya aren't that far away!

    Anyone know what caused it?

It's on the Bangkok post website. An explosion at a plastics factory involving toluene. Fire has been put out.

All is well without even a hint or notice of any incident until I read this thread on the TD. I'll have to make an inquiry to the bride if she heard about it but seeing that it was just recent, may not be on the TV yet. I'm gonna go look.

No toxic clouds in the sky in fact aftert the rain last evening everything is crystal clear down here in Ban Chang/Sattahip West of Maptaput.

I can imagine a full moon beach style party is being organized as we type.

Happens everywhere. I worked for a time in a pulpmill in Ontario. Some twat was welding in an area known for turpentine. Burnt half the plant to the ground.
