Hi All
Can any one recommend a Dentist they have used and are happy with in the Pattaya / Jomtein area. So many "shop fronts" to choose from but you do not know what is lurking behide the facade.
Thanks

For years I have used PIC on Soi 5, great dentist.
I had a problem last week that required an extraction (first for 45 years!) I went to Thai Smile Dental Clinic Pattaya Thailand : Dental Implant and Cosmetic Center in Jomtien, mainly because of parking and he was recommended, I have to say he is an excellent dentist, but fails miserably as a human being, could happily have slapped him, so want be going back there, simply cant fault his dental work though.
My next port of call will be GENERAL DENTISTRY STUDIO SMILE PATTAYA: Dentist Pattaya | Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry | Dental Pattaya they are recommended by quite a few people also they are "mercury free" so understand that mercury is crap, I want to get a couple of mercury fillings changed. I would use PIC for this but he still believes there is nothing wrong with mercury!
Hello
I used a Dr. Chanya Kulpiya at Dental Art Clinic on soi bukhao, only for a check up and clean, seemed competent to me.
A couple of my friends also went there and thought he was good, one had some fairly major work done.
That was a couple of years ago though, he may have moved on.
Phone no.is 038720990.
Dr teppasit on Dolphin roundabout. New york trained, reassuring American accent. Always done ok for me
if not him then one of the better hospitals. you will pay a bit more, but still cheap as hell compared to the west. Hell roamer I may drive down to Pattaya to see him. As long as its an American not a New York accent. 555Originally Posted by Lostandfound

^sorry missed that. He used to be at Bangkok pattaya and was recommended by my former uk dentist, also retired here.
Thanks for the advice
I'll give Studio Smile at the dolphin round about a go
I checked out Dr. Tapaset at STUDIO SMILE and have decided to look elsewhere. They are ridiculously overpriced and tried to sell me work that I didn't need done. *I confirmed this by reviewing the x-rays with my US dentist. I may give Thai Smile a try but I'm open to suggestions. I just don't want to spend US prices here in LO$.
You are evidently still alive with mercury in your mouth for quite some years, so why do you fall for a marketing trick now? You ingest more mercury in drinking water and food during your life than can be released by your fillings. While amalgam fillings are alledgedly dangerous, the incandescent light bulb is being banned all over the world, and replaced by CFL bulbs that contain half a gram of mercury each. Isn't that odd?
When I go to a dentist in Pattaya, it's a small place on Thepprasit about 200 metres on the left from the Soi Korphai intersection to Sukhumvit. Four times cheaper than the places with big signs and large reception desks, service as good. The lady doctor speaks English excellently.
Beware of "bait and switch tactics" at Dental Smile on 3rd road near South Pattaya Road. First of all, the sandwich board on the sidewalk advertises prices that are 25% lower than what you will actually be charged. My biggest complaint though, is with regard to teeth whitening. As you enter the office, you’ll see a huge sign advertising the Zoom Whitening System which is the world’s leader. At the appointment counter, there are Zoom brochures on display. There is not any indication anywhere in the office that they use any other process.
I had just completed some dental work which had turned out to be 17000 baht instead of the 7000 baht as originally quoted but that is a separate issue for another day.
I made an appointment to come in for whitening and afterwards, when my wife looked at the bill, she told me that she didn’t think they had used the Zoom system. I went back to the clinic and they confirmed that they had used some obscure Korean system. I am not happy with the results and I received no satisfaction from the clinic regarding this issue. I would caution anyone to beware of deceptive practices at this dental office.
