    vinyl lovers

good news for vinyl lovers, took a look in boomerang in central festival, now has an amazing display of vinyl records, lots of classic albums from the sixties and seventies, blues, jazz all sorts

the guy there says he can order stuff as well, prices seem a bit high between 600 and 1100 baht but on closer inspection the are all audiophile albums, either 180 or 200 gram vinyl, so the prices are about the same as the U.K.

many are special editions, best selection i have seen since tower records many years ago in royal garden

Vinyl is making a creeping, slow comeback. Now that people are realising how downloaded music is compressed far too much whereas vinyl is pretty much as the artiste wanted you to hear the music.

What are you supposed to play them on though? I excitedly broke out the 12 10's the other day to discover that they were both fucked.

There are several USB recordable turntables on the market nowadays.

Of course 1210s will always be available. Cheaper options are available made by Gemini, Sherwood, Soundlab etc

Boomerang Record Shop now gone from Central - has Boomerang returned anywhere else. ? There was a good choice of vinyl there.
