Urgent trip top Phayao.....

I have to get to Phayao on Wednesday evening by about 19:00

I finish a meeting in Chonburi at 13:00 so that leaves me 6 hours.

I figured the best flight was closest to 3pm to either Lampang, Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.

The Lampang flight is at 14:45 on PB and is THB 5830 (for two). I hate propellor planes, but a mate can collect me and get me to Phayao.

Chiang Mai is just a bit later and is THB 4710.

I reckon that gives me the best opportunity of making it to Phayao for 19:00.

Air Asia is a bit later and a lot cheaper, but allowing for them to be late as well means I suspect I will be a bit late.

So I reckon it's the CM flight on TG.

Quickest way to get from CM to Phayao?

My guess is out the front door and tell the taxi driver Phayao.

Any one got any idea of the cost?

Would have thought that Chiang Rai was the better option ( thinking of Muang Phayao, although you could be going elsewhere in Changwat Phayao), closer and a better road, particularly important should there be any rain.

I would have gone via Chiang Rai, would have been cheaper, but the flights are just not available.

They only fly at 13:25 and 18:20 with TG. 11:35 and 20:10 with Air Asia.

My wife got a quote of 2200 THB from a taxi in CM, and that was confirmed by Ant Robertson.

So we phoned the guy who drove us around last week in the area and he will pick us up at the airport and take us to Phayao for 1700 THB.
