Mangofest. We have 7 varieties of mango trees fully loaded. man are they good. Sadly they all are coming ripe on the vine about the same time. You can only eat so many. My wife will give many away to family and friends. We also have a lot of Chomphoo ready to eat.
A few pics. My wife bags as many as she can to keep bugs off as we do not use pesticides.

Damn shame. Mangoes in season in Oz are about $6.00 ,each
For sure. Oz imports most of our mangoes from the Philippines and they are damn tasty we grow em here in West Oz and the gov dept in charge of that have been experimenting with the variety's to see which ones are best suited. On the east coast the lucky bar stewards have an abundance of them. Different climate
Most people are Kunts.dont believe me? Next time you see a group of people. Shout out OI KUNT watch em all turn around.
Damn decent sized mangoes too!
I have a couple of trees in our orchard, but they are not fruiting at this time of year.
There's no need to waste good ripe mangoes.
If you have a freezer, peel and dice or slice the mangoes and freeze them in bags or containers. Take them out whenever you need or fancy them.
Mango sorbet is also easy to make and tastes really good.
You can also make mango jam or mango chutney, whatever floats your boat.
Enjoy.![]()
My wife does all that above Nev and still too many unfortunately. We bought a large dehydrator which my wife uses for mangoes and pineapple. She also dries out beef liver for our dogs as snacks.
I have to say the mango preserves my wife makes is really good. She mixes 3 types of mangoes for a nice sweet/sour taste.
We actually keep our trees as small as we can to produce less but better quality. I will cut them back after fruit season.
Cheers
I tried freezing avocados, but ended up filling the freezer and still having fruit left over. A glut is a glut.
Even our chickens got sick of mangoes this year, and the squirrels gave up on them and moved on to the jackfruit.
I even resorted to a small slice of mango in a gin and tonic, which wasn't too bad to be honest. I'm not sure I'd try it with avovado though.
I can hear him now, 'mustn't grumble, mango crumble'.![]()
Big afternoon rainstorm today here in the north, so a beautiful lovely northern evening.
NYT Mini in a minute, a clear sign that the day is gonna be good.![]()
Saw there was some flood system being enlarged down the road so headed out on me Click Resto project to check it out, while Teeny got busy in the kitchen.

Some say half of one brake working is dangerous, some say adventurous.
Will be interesting to see just how well they do this.
I'll notify The Somerset Smoothie if they leave rebar out overnight.
Was playing football with the local kids here a few evenings a week just a month or so ago.
The rain here don't play.
I wouldn't want it any other way.
Cheers from the lovely north.
Ed & Teeny. :-)
Does anyone else not have a fkin clue what he's on about half the time?
So early Saturday morning I took the ATV up to the lake area where my uncle caught a snakehead fish and I brought along my fishing gear. So Thai folk say to use some breaded bait. I am an old school fly fisherman guy or using live bait with no real weight as I always fished for Salmon, Steelhead or Trout. I went out to the back forty and dug up a few earth worms and rounded up a few crickets. Took my ultralight gear and went. Tried the nightcrawler first and no luck. After a while I set up a long leader " ~2 meters" and a small split shot weight and tossed on a Cricket. It was perfect as the water isn't all that deep so the weight sinks but the live Cricket floats. Was feet up on the ATV, Spotify playing Bob Seger and then WHAM..........
No idea what was on, but seemed large albeit when using ultralight tackle its hard to tell. Played it for awhile then then brought it to shore
I stopped by my uncles on the way back and showed him but told him... not a snake head fish however my wife and FIL will eat it up. I got home and showed my wife and she just laughed and said "OK Cool. I do not have to buy fish at the market, you can go and catch them". I said laughing. "Well you and Pa might starve as I am not going every day so the market for his fish is a better idea"
